Any other Mazdaspeed mods...

....besides the CAI that will really increase performance? I only want to look at Mazda parts because of potential warranty issues.

I know they make a cat-back system, but everything I have read and heard says it only adds about 5-8 HP. Is there anything else besides the MS CAI and cat back?

Thanks.

coilovers??? i think thats about it as far as mazda parts go. i think a new tmic shows a nice gain and can be removed easily for warranty work...

Coilovers....hmmm...well I don't plan on doing any hard track / off-road racing in it. The suspension is stiff enough as it is now. Thanks for the info. It is too bad they don't make a turbo-back for it!

You can eliminate one of the cats or one resonator, or both. This will free up some back pressure. I'll be doing this in a couple of weeks.

I don't want to invite any warranty issues by doing that. Sure, if I had a problems I could always put the parts back on and take it to the dealer...but I don't want to go through the hassle.

Coilovers or springs will "increase performance". Suspension upgrades will help balance out engine mods and hookup the power.

Coilovers will allow you to dial in performance and feel. That doesn't have to mean stiff or just a track setup.

If you like the corning and balance, suspension is a great improvement.

How much do you think the coil overs will help?

This car corners pretty damn amazing and faster then have the balls I have to push any harder. I did a loop around on ramp at about 50mph and it was pretty damn funny how hard I was pressed into the seat.

coilovers would provide more stabililty in the turns. I know it doesnt feel like it, but when cornering hard, this car has fairly significant body lean. With a stiffer, more compact suspension, the car will stay (more) level through the turns and allow you to have more speed entering and exiting the corner. I've noticed a significant improvement just from lowering springs, I assume that a good set of coilovers would do the car wonders...

Does it lower the car at all?

This car is low enough and I have a hell of a time getting around to patients homes that have steep drive ways ect. I wouldnt want it any lower thats for sure.

Most coilovers have adjustable ride height, I assume that the mazdaspeed versions will as well

For once I agree with you Whitey, the ride height already is low enough. There is no need in my book to lower this car any more.

Yeah I would freak out if it were any lower. I already have to do the "RICER BOY drive up to a speed bump or drive way and go sideways then cut back in trick."

ahh you guys are wimps!! haha

I swore I would never lower another car, but I love this car sitting closer to the ground. So much more agressive and really makes the wheels look better without the wheel gap
