looks like you easily grabbed the whole cup holder and pulled it up and try to find where it leads too, 1 ground wire and nothing else, it just could be a switch for anything, I have that switch where my illumination brightness of my gauges, and that turns on/off my fogs

They must have removed the other wire. Could have been for anything, really

It was already unplugged, and the wire was just laying underneath.
