Any brake updates for 2022+ CX-5?

I don't think the manufacturing costs are much different. Look at this:

This shows the measurement of force required to press the spring. Now, I'm not an engineer, but maybe there's an interplay with the heavier oil the turbo motor uses. Therefore everything would work as intended with 5W-30 using this filter and 0W-20 using the other filter. That's speculation on my part as there may be another reason why Mazda did this.

And look at these teardowns that show the filters to be otherwise the same:

Remember Mazda specifies either 0W-20 or 5W-30 oil for the 2.5L NA. So heavier weight oil theory shouldn’t be the reason to design a different oil filter for the 2.5T. Mazda has to add another part number on oil filters, which definitely will add its cost, by not using an existing oil filter.

I’m thinking the reason is a stronger oil pump system on the turbo skyactive.I believe the pressure is controlled by the ecm in some manner. I remember reading a post about it , on bob the oil guy i think. Guys smarter than me were arguing about the type of oil system and the control the computer has on it. I believe there is a relief on the pump also, making the bypass on filters sole purpose lack of maintenance insurance.
