Another way to mount a Dashhawk

Using a universal GPS mount from Fry's

As soon as I bought the DH I headed out to Fry's to see what they had. I've seen other members' mounts but I didn't want anything permanent and I wanted to be able to see it easily without taking my eyes of the road. I settled on one of the cheaper GPS mounts from Fry's, I think it as around 20 bucks. It has your standard suction cup mount with bendy arm that is roughly 7 inches long (that's what she said). The mount was a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be in relation to the Hawk but I've grown to like it. Basically you expand the jaws through the use of a lever on the underside of the unit. When the Dashhawk was in place I simply "pinched" the two cushioned jaws onto the hawk. They hold well and I haven't had an issue with the dh coming loose. I really like were I have it mounted because it isn't very far at all from the road. The portion of the windshield that was blocked was already blocked from my registration and inspection stickers.

It is very easy to remove the cup and hide the hawk. I might eventually route the wire under the dash but I don't want to make it too difficult to swap between cars.

Anyway, onto the pictures...

Oh and my cars a bit dirty, we've gone from 6 inches of snow last Thurs, to 80 degree afternoons this week and I haven't had a chance to clean her up.

If you use a blunt object the wire will fit in the crack (yellow below), then push it behind the weather seal which you may have already done.
