Another Tranny Failure

javy212
ibought mine from maple too
the sales department is the s*** BUT the service dept is the worst ive ever seen
i had the same problem 3 -4 shift fork and and 3rd gear shattered, clutch and pressure plate
all because i was pissed a cop gave me a ticket so i was driving like an ass
the biggist problem though is that our system DOES NOT use cables like honda to engage
we use STEEL linkages with very tight clearances
the fork happens to be the weak link in the chain that breaks because nothing is absorbing the pain other than directly to the fork

yeah roy knows his s*** big rx7 fan
are you in south jersey?

I have had my trans worked on three times, last time they completely replaced the trans with a new one. I have less than 14,000 miles on mine. I posted this on this forum and several assholes here were insisting that it was my driving and one guy even hoped the dealer would sue me because I am persueing the lemon law here on mine. I only posted my delimma to help others on this forum. Anyway, good luck. And if anyone reads this who criticized me, F.U.!!

Why doesnt one of our after market buddies that get on this board try whippin us up with a nifty new shift fork that wont F*** up. am i crazy or does this sound like a more fesible(SP?) mod than others PLEASE someone kart boy, spoolin, FM, anyone else please make us one

i am sending ou the shift forks to be shot peened . if it happens again i will have new ones made custom to solve the problem once and for all with extra synchros on the shaft

i have never had a problem with mine but i want what ever there is that is better so i dont have this problem in the future

From the "Protege FAQ":

The clutch release fork was also beefed up on the MazdaSpeed Proteg, so
for 3rd generation owners with the 2.0l engine, these parts are also
recommended:
KL03-16-520A clutch release fork
F202-16-102A clutch release fork pin

Hope this helps.

my tranny is on its way to failure, if i drive it aroudn town for about an hour and a half not nessacerliy driving hard just shifting alot it gets hot and locks me out of 1st and 2nd and then proceeds to grind into third, and the other day i was ocming up to a lgith so i ptu it in nuetrl, sat at the light then when it turned green a i put it into first (with the clutch in) and it still made a horendous grinding noise going into gear.

My advice, change the Transmission fluid as soon as possble to Redline Super Light Shock Proof gear oil. After I changed mine to this, I had no more issues. Motorsport Sales in Dallas off TI Blvd and Floyd Cir. is where I get mine.

my tranny is fucekd its at mazda now, they want me to come by in the morning to talk to the manager and tech i have a feeling they are going to try and say it was my fault....

Has anyone done this to a MP3? Are the dimensions the same?

my tranny latley wont let me go into 4th with out letting the clutch in then out again. i had the dealer put redline mt-90 in when i got my LSD put in. I think maybe they didnt put it in. It is still notchy, i think i will have to order some more and do it myself. I hope to get to the dealer by the end of the week.

Has anyone tried putting the MazdaSpeed fork in a non-MazadaSpeed Tranny?

Does anyone know if you can adjust the clutch travel, i feel even when ithe pedals at the floor it should be a lil farther down.
