another stupid question!!! MS3 in winter?

Who uses their Speed3 as the primary car for winter? I will be going from my Dodge Ram 4x4 to the Speed3 and I'm worried I am making a stupid move. I have a beater Ranger 2wd but I am sure as soon as I trade the Dodge, the Ranger will take a complete s*** and I will be stuck with the Speed as my winter car. I dont mind getting winter tires and wheels but won't this winter. I have been didking around with my decision and the value of my trade is dropping quickly, I really have to do this now if I am going to at all.

I live in Calgary and have tons of snow and ice here now. I use my speed as a daily driver and have no problems with it. Get a decent set of tires and some rubber floor mats and all will be fine. Just don't drive on free-ways and avoid highways as much as possible, unless you want a million rock chips..

I drive mine all year round - I'm running on 16" steelies with Continental Vikings on. I don't think I've ever felt this invincible in the snow.

With stock tires it is an unsafe vehicle in the winter. With snow tires it is a great winter car. I drive mine with 16s on snow tires and it is a perfect winter car, it was -9 the other day and it started right up.

I'm running some Mazda 6 17" rims with Dunlop Winter Sport M3's and it is great. No problems whatsoever in the snow or slush, and the performance loss is minimal with these. From what I hear, don't even try to run the stockers in the snow.

yeah seriousely.. take it from me. I have a couple threads on here about the stockers & snow. They are very very unforgiving... dont even attempt to unless you have or want some insurance claims coming your way. Best advice is to get a set of all season or winter tires and your be good to go.

Im in CT with the summer tires on it still. Useless in the snow (with those tires), but I have a fleet of cars to drive when that happens anyway.

Don't forget warm air in your winter tires for better traction and winter formula boost fluid so your turbo doesn't freeze up!

205/60/16

215/55's. 205's are better if you get a lot of snow, 215s are better for ice.

I just put a set of eagle F1 All Season tires on my stock wheels and they work great.These tires are bad ass in the snow and are great on dry pavment also,They are just great tires all around.I strongly suggest you check out these tires before you spend your money on something else.

I live in Minnesota and I have been running the stock wheels and tires all winter so far, and it has been a pretty bad winter. Would I suggest that anyone else does the same? No, I am an idiot. It is crazy dangerous. I have a near miss almost daily.

I live in MN too and would never drive this car on the stock tires, your crazy man! I run Dunlop graspics and I drive right through the snow.

It's all tires. Get good winter tires (the real ones, not "performance" winter) and you will be fine. You don't need AWD.

I've driven the car in 8 inches of snow, on ice, and on slick sleet covered roads. It handles fine if you've got the right tires on it. Winters are a must, however.

If anything, the traction control and the limited slip make this easier to handle in slippery conditions than other FWD cars.

Winter tires for winter driving..that simple! Try and get plain steel wheels for the winter tires! The rest : no problem!
