There are threads here on the subject. It's not "hard" but you do need to have basic familiarity with hand tools and be willing to follow the steps carefully. A catch can installed incorrectly is worse than not having one at all.
Some catch can kits come with all the fittings and extra hose lines you need and others do not. Some are designed to be bolted at particular locations and others can be put pretty much where you want as long as you keep your lines running properly.
