Another road trip

Second road trip with the CX9, from Denver -> Santa Fe -> Taos -> Denver.

While I'm unimpressed with the city mpg of this car (16-18), the roadtrip mpg is great. Averaged 22.2 for the entire trip, 4 people, luggage, cooler full of beverages, AC on, 80mph on the highway. From Trinidad, CO to Santa Fe, along with a lot of around town, averaged 24.6 on one tank. This car handles awesome, has great acceleration, is very comfortable, and swallows people and cargo with ease - what more could you ask for?

(cheers)

I just got back from a camping trip with the wife and two kids and I had mine loaded and a cargo box on the back with my 100 Qt cooler and a couple of camping totes. While I didn't get good gas mileage like you, people were impressed I was able to stuff so much stuff into the back. And the added weight didn't seem to affect performance that much. There were also a lot of people who hadn't seen a CX-9 before and were commenting positively on the looks.

It's an awesome road trip vehicle for sure.

Vike, come camping with us. We'll show you how to eliminate a lot of that 'gear'.

(silly)

Lol, I know you've showed me how little stuff you're able to bring, but I was pleasantly surprised I was able to fit everything I "needed" to bring except for my popup quik shade, which I had someone else bring for me.

The camping trip we just took consisted of about 35 people and it made it nice to have that pop-up kitchen and all the kitchen gear that goes along with it. People were very appreciative that we brought it. If it were just the wife and I camping I think we could cut back on a lot of our gear, but with two little ones it just makes it nicer to have all the extra crap when you need it...
