Hello everyone...... Woohoo, just purchased a new CX5. After test driving and comparing for the last month, we picked the '14 GS model, in Soul Red.
We had to look at the other brands. But in the end, it was a pretty easy decision to go with the CX5. Plus there's a nice $2000 incentive on any new 14.
Reading through some posts, I learned a few things to look for on specific models, so thanks already. I'll contribute where I can.

Just don't let anything combine that with a photography hobby, because photos with a caption of 'range 112m receding, 63kmh actual, 50kmh limit' are not much fun.

Honestly don't know what this is called cause I can't find it advertised anywhere.
Our local dealer had started receiving 2015's and were parked along side all the 14's. I had been shopping for about a month, and had already received some ok numbers. The day we went in to make an actual purchase, they said a $2000 incentive was offered on all 14 CX5's. So took an extra $2000 off the deal we had already made. I did pay cash, so maybe that is the incentive instead of taking cheap financing.? In the end I was several thousand under MSRP (if that means anything).

Likely an incentive for paying cash. I paid cash, and we started talking after they gave me a $1700 discount for cash...and negotiated from there. In the end, with all the accessories, I settled on just over 4K off list price (incl freight and taxes). Then again, this was in February when they weren't selling many cars.
