2002 Spec V & 2003 P5
Hi everyone. I have been an owner of a P5 for over a year now, so I wanted to join and learn more about this wonderful car. I have not tried the limits of this car, but by what I have read on this forum, this car is very capable.

Does this car present good gains on upgrades, and also, is their a generous aftermarket on this car? Well, I'm glad to me on board. (rockon)

Welcome! How fast u wanna go? If it's real fast, buy and RX7 or 8. (encourage Anyways, these cars handle big time, and it only gets better. If you can't take 'em straight, take 'em in the twisties!!! (mj)

personally, Ive never been one for "rice"ing out a car. Ive always owned japaneese
cars, an the thing I love about my p5 is that it is the second best handling car
(in the corners) Ive ever driven off a lot. The best was the Impreza RS (before the
WRX was available) and I never purchased the Impreza.

Making your car go faster and handle better is "rice"ing out a car?

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I might be looking into going turbo and that's why I have not bought any mods for the engine. What are our stock internals capable of handeling power wise? As for handeling, I'm just going to add springs and some 17"'s. The wheels I really want are the ones of the MSP. I'm hoping to be able to find someone selling them here. Thanks again everyone.

whats up tampaspecv, nice to have other tampa pro owners on here...one question, what do you like better, the spec v or the pro5? i bought an ES pro over a spec v back in 2002, just better overall i thought. you go to usf? any car meets?

no definately not.

ricing to me is the coffee-can exhaust(when they just add the muffler), a suspension that is so low the frame scraps the ground, their stereo encompasses their entire cargo space albeit a trunk or hatch, they have nasty chrome spinner wheels or the like, and an uncomplete body kit still in that gross gray state(unpainted). The best part of a ricer is the one in which the car has rust, dents, or differnt color body panels and they have all the above mention parts.

I love the Spec's power, but the P5 handels like a dream. I bought the Spec back in Nov of 01 and if the MSP was avaliable at that time I would of gone with it. I really like the Spec, but it had a strange breakdown yesterday, so I'll be enjoying the P5 for a little more than usual. I currently have my carrer job, so I'm not in school any more. We should try to get a car meet for the Tampa folks. I'll organize it if you want. I have one with the Spec owners about once every two months and they are great.
