Amsoil

Just ordered 6 quarts (1 gallon jug and 2x 1 quart bottles) of 5w-30 full synthetic and I haven't used Amsoil before. I use to go with Mobil1 but feel it might be a bit over rated and I understand that there is a fuel dilution issue with the MS3 engine and that Mobil1 breaks down a little bit faster due to this. So I went with Amsoil after looking at many other oils. I want to know if anybody here is running Amsoil in thier car now, and if so, how do you like it? How is your ride performing?

well

my brother told me about it , my moms honda has had it for almost 2 years , we changed the oil today and it runs better even though he still used the same filter since the guy sent us the wrong one , i dont recomment useing the same filter but amsoil filter is pretty good

I use the 25k mile, full synthetic Amsoil 5W-30. I started using it around 5000 miles and now have about 30K miles. I still change it every 3K though.

^+1.
I have used AMSOIL in over 5 vehicles now and love it. Could not say better things about this stuff. I became a dealer because I use it so much.

It is definitely worth it. Becoming a dealor, you get discounts on all oil and other items that AMSOIL sells. It costs $10.00 per year. If you become a dealor and you sell oil to another person, you actually get some money for selling it. PM me your information and I can let you know about everything if you are interested.

pm Sent : ) and 10 a year , not that bad

Amsoil isn't much better at resisting fuel dilution then Mobil 1. You should really do an oil analysis and check out the forums on bobistheoilguy.com if you want to learn more about what oil to use

been over to bobistheoilguy.com before I made my decision. I just dont feel right about buying the Penzoil Plus, as many MS3 owners do.. I don't know, maybe Im an oil snob or something.. I just felt that Amsoil was more enticing to me, and It seemed like an excellent product. As for one of the above posts.. I dont quite understand your statement :

"theres no point in using it and changing ever 3k miles , you should change it 5k miles before its recommended millage"

I think its got a life of like 25k miles between changes or something crazy like that.. No thanks.. Ill stick to 3k miles between changes..

what i meant was dont wait untill the 24 or 25k miles arrive , change it before you reach those miles becuase amsoil was made for that reason exactly to last long

In a standard car. But this car is prone to coking then bad turbo. The oil sits in the turbo at 500 degrees or more after you shut it off. Water temp is around 200 deg in most cars. Having a turbo means that you now expose that oil to much higher temperature. My oil turns dark after the first 1000 miles or so. I feel better keeping the oil clean and clear. hmm, sounds like a cosmetic ad. Anyways, it's the peace of mind for me and my turbo is running strong still now with 30k miles. I still get spikes at 23psi in 4th gear and up, so I know the floating bearings are in good health. TBE with high flow cat and no smoke. I know, its not in my sig. A lot of things aren't.

well since you put it that way , i personally never dealt with a turbo car , so i have a long way to go , but some one brought a good point amsoil is performance motor oil ( so it seems ) why should it be used on a small honda motor or something ( since it was for my moms car ) (strike)
