ok nice it can go in a stright line at 150+ from a 40 roll but that doesnt make driveable, at least thats how I see it.

then you don't see very well (eyeballs) (headshake

yeah i'm not usually into most of the graphics i see, but it was pretty creative what they did.

Its all boost. ;)

with that said, thats great. It musta been a real #$#$@^ to tune around that crazy compressor map..

Another thing too, look at the dyno curve: that guy is gonna have a difficult time getting his shift points down and everything.. It looked like it had nothing down low, and in the last 1k rpms is where all the power was.

This is gonna be unpopular, but here it goes:

Roasted gearbox?
Crashed because it got squirelly?

These are the things I see as a possible issue. But, you know, he may already have the Quaife dogbox and xfer case in there already.. Least I would hope. ;)

I have seen some Evo and DSM guys actually turn down their boost at the strip because the car was getting too peaky and hard to drive.

So, while its available and CAN make 900whp, it may not play out the way he would like. ;)

maybe he'll just have to turn it dowen to some reasonable number like 600 for bumping around town.... lol.

He's got the quaiffe differential in there, but has stock tranny I believe. From what I know- he's going to be getting a re-built shep tranny and a carbon fiber driveshaft is in the works.

maybe i don't know much, but i figure they would know when they went with too big of a turbo, if shifting at redline leaves them in turbo-lag zone.

What we need to remember is this is not AMS's shop car. This is a car built for a customer to their specifications. If they walk in and say I want 900hp, thats what AMS is going to build it for. THe AMS shop car has about 600hp IIRC and the dyno vid... the thing spools and hits full boost by 4k. Thats impressive if you ask me.

Well, nobody asked you. ;)

I looked all over the AMS website last night but couldn't find any shots of the engine. The 4G63 has the same layout as the FS-DE and I am allways curious to see how they are routing piping and what-not.

Anyone got any pictures?

The car gets to full boost (44psi) by 5800 RPM, and has a redline of 8500. They are installing a small shot of NOS to help spool the turbo at lower rpm- for streetability.

Remember- this is the 2.3 stroker, so it will naturally spool the turbo a little quicker, but also has a lower redline. The shop car kept the 2.0L and they let it roll to 9K.

It has a rat's nest engine bay, just like my car. :(

There has got to be a better way!!
Looked fine to me.

Yeah, i guess your STOCK engine bay must really look like hell. :-P

Here's a pic to show the comparrison between the stock evo turbo (16G), the GT35R, and then the GT42R- which is the kit they have in this AND the shop car.

And then a few pics of the engine bay:
