Am I The Only One That Thinks The P5 Is Kinda Quick?

Peppy for sure...I only find first gear a bummer, once I hit second especially going up hills, move-the-hell-over LOL..manual, good upkeep, good tires, and the drivers personal skill makes a huge difference IMO. I know what you mean tho, and I can see how that comparison came up, sure as hell feels like more than 130hp I'll say about 55%of the time anyways, depending on the situation . As far as mini vans go, I find in 4th, going up hills, and with highway driving they have nothing on me, but to each his own.

I like what was mentioned somewhere through here about her looks keeping Honda's etc off our backs...(first) Couldn't agree more..I find when I pull up beside people they can't help but stare, and then the light turns green I just grin, look innicent then...ZOOM ZOOM (rlaugh)

official factory quarter mile numbers for a P5 and xB? ha good luck. I wouldn't expect them to test or release those numbers for an econowagon and an econobox.

car & driver did their own tests, i dunno where to find the results

look i test drove a scion xb when car shopping and it is sloowwwww. Im talking I can barely get up to highway speeds without having to rev all the way to the redline. It is slower than the p5 for sure. Because the next car I got into after the xb to test drive was the p5 and it felt soo much faster. Im glad i walked away from the xb

Car and Driver article. P5 FTW!....and I quote, "The Verdict: A sports car in station-wagon clothes."

"This Mazda, like the Proteg four-door on which it's based, is really fun in the twisties. Ride is taut, body roll is tightly controlled, the 50-series Dunlops respond crisply, and they bite (0.79 g). You can set up a happy understeer with light braking on the way into turns, or push in hard under power, then lift a bit when you need to tighten the line. The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone, with no wobbles and no excuses. Precise. Predictable. Press on!"

There is no doubt, the P5 is fun to drive. Even if it isn't fast compared to the cars around me, it makes me smile every day.

don't scion xb have 103 hamsterpower? 18.5 is a generous number lol I thought they were slower.

Am I crazy for thinking this or what? I mean i know the specs dont show it but it feels quicker than a 130hp engine in my opinion. The other day i hit the pedal hard to beat a light and my coworker asked me if I had a v6. Im like wtf??
Maybe im just crazy or maybe my coworkers crazy.

If you think it's quick and are happy with your car, then don't listen to anyone else.

I'm gonna guess that a yaris is lighter than an xB, and I know it has more power.

Lighter for sure but power is about the same actually. This paris was modded though. Probably 5 speed, lowered, exhaust.
