Alternator Whine

I just recently installed my sound system in my P5, and i'm getting some alternator whine and was wondering if anyone had any advice. Here's the deal. I kept the stock HU, ran industrial shielded cable from the HU to the 4-Channel, RCAs from the 4-Channel's preouts to the mono amp for the sub. I'm going to try regrounding my HU, my amps have an incredible ground so i don't think that's where it's coming from. Is there any other reason why i might be getting alternator whine? should i try noise filters, a bigger alternator? any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Noise filters are path and a bigger alternator will help nothing for noise, only make it worse.

The RCAs need to be run on the other side of the car from the power wire.
Speaker wires are best run with the RCAs. G
rounding locations is as important as anything else. The ground needs to be primary metal, aka the floor.
Both amps should be grounded in the same place.
Ground cables need to be the same gauge wire as the power wire.
Never move the only battery in the car to the trunk.

To trouble shoot you want to make a muting RCA plug. Get some very cheap RCAs and cut them. Then strip them and twist together the Ground and tip wires for each RCA. Thus with a small and cheap 2 channel RCA you will have 4 muting plugs. Disconnect the RCAs running from the radio to the amp at the amp. Then plug in the muting plugs into the amp. Turn on the system and see if the noise is gone. If it is then the RCAs are generating the noise. Otherwise its coming in from the chassis or power wire.

This is step one you can find alot of good whine troubleshooting in the FAQ section of www.mobileaudio.com.
