Alternator upgrade

I have a Mazda 6 with a big stereo, and I'm wondering what the biggest factory alternator that will fit in my car will be. The 70-80 amps this one is pushing out just isn't cutting it anymore. Would the mazdaspeed 6 alternator fit in directly to my location? Could I fit the cx-9 alt in it? Anybody know?

I've been reading a lot about this and apparently mazdas are known for their difficult alternators. I've read that even if you get a new alternator the ECU will regulate it to 80 amps. But I'm not sure if thats true. Let me know if you find any information on this! As I'm trying to find myself a new alternator as well!

I wasn't even aware that the MS6 and CX7 had larger alternators. I've been on the forum a while and this topic comes up occasionally. I haven't seen anyone boast about successfully upgrading their Mazda alternator. You should probably post on some audio-specific forums to get feedback from professional installers. If you do find out anything, be sure to share it with the rest of us
