alright - here goes. KL-P5-take2

I'd personally go with orange metallic up top and black metallic down low, with the zig-zag separating the two just being a straight up border between colors, but whatever floats your boat man.

Also, nice build... Subbin'

no real updates - except my everchanging plan of tossin the spoolie on the wagon.

I've changed directions now from a stock ecu and just boosting the fuel pressure (larger fp, injectors, fmu, and afpr) - to doing away with the "make it work" attitude. I've since replaced that mindset with a "make it RIGHT" thought process and bought a PNP Megasquirt for the KL. This will allow me more flexibility and better dial-in for tuning (more bewst, safer tune, better mpg, etc). Still looking at painting the car - that's ever-changing. Still want to do a bodykit.....or just toss a WRX lip on the front and call it done. Still DO WANT MOAR Lows...coilovers. And.....the biggy right now is the AC. I still need to find the damn AC lines from an '01 Protege since they're direct bolt-ons for my N25 AC compressor on the KLDE.

All in all - 16000 miles on the car since the swap....and it's still as fun as day 1!

Cheers!

Glad to hear she's still running great and I can't wait to read about your boost adventures. (2thumbs)

GRRRRRR!!!!! Was going down the highway 2 nights ago to come home from getting my son - and hit a pothole the size of an oil drum.

front passenger rim has a peeled edge and it's dented all the way to the core......

Starting to look for replacement ideas. Remember - I'm only riding on Tein S-Tech's - so I'm not looking for that "omgflush" look. I want functional.

Ideas? I've looked over the wheel thread and seen several cars on here in which I really like their setups - but most the ones I REALLY like have some full coilover setups.

the xxr 002, 527, and 530's are nice. MB Weapons would look killer too. My question is this - would concave wheels really look any good on a car with just my kinda drop?

I would, but I dont have the cash to toss around for coilovers. As cheap as they are (and that price is cheap!) - I just cannot justify spending that money on them, when I have a perfectly performing and functioning suspension already.

Guess I could call the manufacturer and see what they'll charge me for a replacement rim, right?

You P5 is midnight blue, right? Those would look sweet, IMHO.

Yep, Midnight Blue for now....I think my paint scheme I'm designing would still look bonkers with these.

Now.....gotta get the wife onboard.....lol.

Chrome P5? (wow)

played with photoshop (first time in awhile) today throughout the day, and came up with something I thought was kinda cool....

Oh thank god. LOL! I almost had to un-sub and bite my tongue. Those are nice wheels and would look even better with proper fitting tires. ;)

Let me see what I can come up with - kinda liking the bronze egay wheels....and the price for them isn't too bad either.

Any suggestions on where to get great looking wheels for bottom dollar? I dont care about namebrands - as I'm not sponsored, I'm not racing, and I'm not entering any carshows. I just want some budget flash that will look good and perform well enough for my "street needs".

I didn't - he got his done I do believe.

just need to find the proper lines to connect everything up - then figure out the electrical side of it.

How 'bout yours?

Running great thanks. Small intermitent idle issues (this is the norm apparently) but runs strong. My fuel economy has even stayed the same! have about 25 passes down the drag strip and I havent even broken anything! Its a pretty ballin DD

thats good he managed to get it to work tho

I've officially found a set of wheels locally that fit my purpose.

Craigslist had a guy selling his MS6 wheels (18x7.5) for 300 bucks. One has light rash, but nothing a lil TLC won't fix. Stock silver color. No tires yet.

I've seen biker's build (his had same wheels) - what tires did you end up getting? anyone know? What tires will fit on a wheel that's 18x7.5 @ 55 offset, while riding on S-techs and Tokico HP blues?

Also - I've never refinished wheels, but I'm thinking about doing it. Just stripping them down, spraying them with Duplicolor wheel paint (prolly bronze....it'd look secksy) and clearing the snot outta them. Should look good, yeah?
