alright - here goes. KL-P5-take2

What kinda suspension drop were you on when you rode on the 225/40's?

Found what color I'm gonna paint them.....I'm going neon lime green I think...should be fun.

Well, if I can get this dude on the phone to buy them - I'll go pick them up soon.

Saw the color I wanted too.....should be fun.

Grabber Green from Duplicolor. Either that or I'll be doing a gold/bronze.

ok - got the wheels! 300 for the set and hey....they're in pretty good overall shape.

Does have a few minor curb-rashes, but nothing I can't file and smooth out before paint.

Tomorrow - find tires. I have a tire shop that i bought my last ones at (700 for wheels + tires out the door......great deal!). I'll check-in with him on the price of 4 215/35/18's and a comparative of some 215-225/40/18's.

So - in the end - I've ended up with some sweet wheels that are OEM strength (no more dents hopefully) and will look great for a decent price. woohoo!

Until next time.

Good stuff on my ms3 wheels and any other 18 inch set up I have had I ran 215-35-18

I'd say 225/40-18 would be my choice. The more rubber the better. Not so sure about the grabber green though, man. haha

eEvan - it's either the Grabber green or a darker, more metallic bronze. I'm going to be getting the regular color treatment for a bit, since I'm looking at getting the tires mounted and installed today. Hell....who knows? I may really enjoy the silver and not change a thing.

Rico - as I understand, I can run a 225/40 without issues. I'd like to run the 225/40 because the bigger tire will ride nicer, but I expect it to rub on the inside somewhere. No coilovers here - just Tein S-Tech's and blues. We'll see today- as the guy has both tires in stock. I will ask him to mount the 225/40's right away and take it for a drive to see if it rubs. Try it on all 4 corners to see if it rubs anywhere.

yeah im only on eibach springs on kyb schocks. and yes 225-40 would be nice. I would love a bit more tire than the 215-35

let me know how it works out. so nxt time I need tires I might upgrade to that size :)

Here's how it looks with 215/35/18's. I think I could've gone with the 40's. Although - it would've been tiiiiiiiight next to the struts on the rears.

^ I WANT THAT HOOD!!! But ihone I would go with the bronze especially with that midnight blue. Don't think the green would go as well with it. I understand standing out, but only in a good way. (wink)

Silver does look classy, but a little too OEM. Bronze would look good but white would look even better. ;)

already got my paint ready to go on - I got a couple cans of the Duplicolor Bronze Wheel paint and a can of the clear.

Noone around this area even sells teh bronze anymore - I had to order it online. Hope 2 cans will do it.....

The clear on the other hand - is plentiful.

I thought about white....it'd be a B!tch to keep clean though - especially with how much m brakes dust.

Looking forward to seeing the results. :)

And just don't use your brakes, no brake dust. Problem solved. :D

ahhhh.......Evan - with the permanent solutions for temporary problems.

On another note - I've got the IC piping all mocked up and the snail setup is just about done. Had a mild stop there for a minute due to my wife's surgery and some other curve-balls, but now that we're past that, it's time to step it up and get this thing done. I'm hoping to be pushing the go-button on the turbo before xmas. With a not-too-shabby dyno pull of 161 hp @ 153 tq on the current motor and 100 octane, I'm really hoping for 240-250 atw's on 8 psi. If all goes well - I'll be turning up the bewst and seeing how she does at 12 psi. The current motor is pretty solid I must say. No knocks or rattles (the occasional HLA....but that's just about every KL out there, right?) and no leaks of any sort.

I'm still kickin my @$$ for not jumping on that GB for the PNP Megasquirt that was over at PT. That seems to be the last piece of the puzzle that will allow safer and more in-depth tuning - thus allowing more powah!!!!

Fuel System is solid. Walboro 255 in-tank and a Vortech 12:1 FMU (for now) with milly-s injectors. Thought about finding some sort of AFC and plumbing in another injector in the intake piping for safety-sake. Think that's even worth doing? Or would I be better off finding some red-top nissan injectors, boring out the KL rails, and adapting everything once I get the pnp?

My buddy Wes put in his deposit for the MS but doesn't need it anymore. I'm sure he can sell you his.
