Almost impossible to shift fast in the MSP!!

yeah, second is easy to chirp, if its cool out i can get it to roll nicely

Ha Ha ha...I can Chirp 1st through 3rd gear...And i don't even need nitrous to chirp into 3rd!

changing the fluid did help me some . i was having problems from neutral to 1st and 1st to 2nd .
im using gm syncromesh ,redline shock proof gear oil looks pretty good and royal purple syncromax. it certainly didnt make it 100% better but it did help and for less then 50$$ worth it to me .
on a side note if any one cares it takes aprox 3.5 quarts

Damn, I tried to do a few quick 1-2 shifts in my MSP and the ****** shifter gets stock between the gears!! I don't want to really force it in and I ended up grinding it a little. How are we suppost to get good times in the 1/4 mile? Don't get me wrong, I can drive manual cars, it's just the the tranny in the MSP seems to be very rough. Any1 have any suggestions?? I looking to go to the track, but if I'm gonna keep grinding the 2 gear there, there's no point.

I can chirp 2nd all day long. Ofcourse I'm now running 9-11psi thanks to Joe P, and the colder plugs.

I actually find my mp3 easier to shift from 1-2. Granted, the mp3 is more notchy but I can flick that 1-2 gear faster.

There is a definite sweet spot with the speed, and I don't have it down quite right yet.

But, I find reverse is a b**** sometimes in the speed. I often have to roll forward, and then stick it in reverse. This pisses me off as my last honda was like this, and it consumed all my patience with trannies.

I can chirp 2nd with no problems. I once spun them for few seconds.

I tried again and it still doesn't want to go into second gear!! :mad: WTF?? I'm not powershifting, but letting off the gas/depressing the clutch/letting off the clutch/pressing the gas. Better get this s*** down for next week because I'm going to the track.

yea me to also reverse goes in but doesent go into gear whats with that its like first ---/ 2nd-----3rd grrrr-------/4th-------shake boost then ---/5th--------

Funninest thing happened to me today..I chirped into 4th Gear..Gotta Love 4-2-1 headers..they give ya some nice tq#'s..I am sure!

Yes... I have chirpped in 2nd a few times... ive tried to do it consistantly but i cant....but ya.. i have the same prob... i want to shift quicker but it wont let me..

I had a bit of a hard time when I first bought my speed going from 2nd to third. Now I dont have a problem at all. I'm always the first one off the line at the light no matter who's next to me.


I usually chirp from 1st to 3rd...not every single time since the flash...but when I get to about 4500-5k rpm's.

Can any of you guys chirp second? I think that with the lsd in there makes it even harder to chirp.

I can easily do it in my unmodified P5...

no problem chirping the tires. i do have a prob with 1-2 if i get up to 6000. glad to see others are having the same problem. i know how to drive but i was beginning to wonder.
