ALL 2010 Mazda3 Stuff Goes Here

Problems with the car.
1. A 4 cyl should never EVER have dual exhausts.
2. Why the Hood scoop WHY WHY WHY!
3. I dont see brembos, WHY do I not see brembos
Other then that its hard to get a good idea on how its going to look. I wonder will it still be fwd?

1.agreed.
2.disagree, please explain to me why letting more air flow into the engine is ever a bad idea..??
3.you dont see brembos because they arent there...duh

*sigh* ok the good um well they got rid of the funny antenna that slaps the back windshield and w/o the door guards it does look kinda sleek but so did the previous models when they were removed, lastly the front end is kinda neat lookin, sadly thats the only good things i can think of as far as outside goes, now the bad. Def looks like a smaller version of the 6 which IS a bad thing not because the 6 looks bad but the 6 supposed to be long sharp but bulky car...it doesnt work for the 3, although the front end resembles the rx-8 (as all new Mazdas apparently do) it works kinda nice but the openings for the fog lights are just outright ridiculous, stock rims are a knock-off snowflake which is good cuz they will make awesome winter rims because who cares about winter rims let them get f**ked up by road salt, now hears the part where Mazda really fell on there faces the rear end yes the whole rear, the bumper is modeled after a park bench and the taillights were stolen offa Lancer, o yea who ever thought DUAL exhaust on a N/A 4cyl from FACTORY would look/sound good....NOBODY. Finally i was going to say one good thing from the facts i know about the new 3 which was i though that it was gonna come with a 2.5l, now that i found out that its not....utter disappointment of the HIGHEST degree. So in other words get a 6 its much better and i have a 3 just to let you know.

To Mazda: *Ahem* just because Ford owns you partly dosent mean you have to listen to them i mean its obvious that only Ford that gave there platform for you guys to say "Boy Ford cant make 4cyls to save there life (referring to focus) so lets take as little as possible from this platform and make the 3 04-09" my guess is Ford saw what you guys did there platform and thought that they could take it another step forward which as seen above they completely failed im so sry for your loss Mazda it was a great car when u guys led the design R.I.P Mazda 3 04-09.

Rant over

Seriously! (wedge)

well I wasn't the thread starter!!

I couldn't see pics @ the office, so I added them in my post.
Jeez. Nice looking specimen Mazda techs!
hood scoop ftw.

The head lights/tail lights remind me of the aggressive look of the new lancers/evo. Pretty sweet, I have to say.

the covered one looks alot liek this one

There's still not a whole lot of information about this thing. It may be awd or fwd no one knows yet. Although for Mazda it might make sense to offer it since none of their current US made cars have an awd option. You're stuck with either the B4000, CX's, or tribute. I've read reports that there's no plans to make the current 6 AWD either. There's a big demand for AWD cars especially up north. Even if it tacks 2K on top of their fwd msrp I think it would still be a very enticing option. I don't think i'd have any choice but to trade in my current ms3 for one. 300HPAWDTURBOMAZDASPEED3 has a nice sound to it. Absolutely Killer.

Just saw this myself after reading about the G8 being killed off......

I love the wheels. Hood scoop.....nice...but I actually think our current system is pretty effective and has a cleaner look. However, that said, in HP and looks, they did have to step up the game a bit to compete with Suby.

I honestly do not see AWD for the MS3. The market is saturated with Mitsu and Subaru in that price range (25-30K). And they already tried to take on that market with the MS6.

It would make more sense to compete with the Cobalt SST and produce a semi-fuel efficient platform with decent handling. If they did AWD, they'd probably rebadge as a completely different model.

Just MHO...

I completely agree! Matter of fact Subaru and Mitsubishi have gone so far upmarket with the two latest versions of their cars that they needed to produce something in the midrange to sell more cars ie: Ralliart and 09 WRX . Mazda would be stupid to make the same mistake. I went to a Mitsubishi dealership and a Evo GSR comes in at a whopping 35K that is just outrageous. Mazda has always been known to produce excellent handling cars at a obtainiable price ie Miata. For mazda to break that formula now would be suicide!

Don't get me wrong they probably will stick with the FWD format especially since this car is a cousin to the Focus RS (which is a nasty car in its own right). The MS6 is AWD, but Mazda never meant for it to be in the same league as the Evo's and STI's. It was meant to be a more luxurious grand tourer like BMW 330Xi/Audi S4. If mazda could get an AWD MS3 at the same starting price point as the current WRX it would be quite a compelling price point and steal sales from both Subaru and Mitsu for having a car that will hang and maybe even whoop cars that cost 10K more. There's also so much competition in the FWD market right now. Cobalt SS, SRT-4 Caliber, Sentra SE-R, Gti, Si and so on. In this segment you'd only have two others as direct competition, the WRX and the Ralliart(Ralliart recieving pretty mediocre reviews). 300hp just sounds a little crazy with FWD even with that new Revoknuckle technology. The car in its current state can already rip the steering wheel right out of your hands.

I agree, give the speed a little bit of an inch with a foot full of boost and you will definetley feel a tugg on the steering wheel. Now that you mention it the market is surely saturated with alot of FWD right now. It would not be far fetched to see an AWD speed3 however I am concerned about the price as well as mediocre reviews such as the ralliart and WRX.

However thinking about it Mazda does have the technology from the speed6 and it could be adapted to a shorter frame, plus mazda is not a complete stranger to AWD turbo charging IE the 323 GTX that car was an absolute hoot but its price killed it.

2.5L 4 cyl + 300 hp/tq + FWD + no LSD = WTF?

Obviously we'll have to wait until the final specs are released BY MAZDA to know for sure. If no LSD, I have zero problem keeping my 08 MS3.

I was about to mention that car myself. It was a wicked car in it's day, Mazda really has the groundwork laid down to do it again with the MS3, it'd be great to see it happen but....
