Alignment help

Well, I have been on the forums searching this topic for 2 days.

Basically, I have a 2002 P5. About a year ago I had Espilar springs and Tockico Blues installed by the man himself: Rishie at Auto RnD. A few months later I got my rims....from Rishie of course! Enkie RPF1s 16x7 on Falkens 205-50-16s. Everything fine, perfect. The little guy (my P5) is just so much fun to drive.:)

Well, for the last 3 months or so the car started pulling to the right, I've had an Alignment from two different places about 4 times in about 2-1/2 months and they show me the spec sheet and the thing is dead on spec. I did a rotation - rears to the front and vice versa (because my tires are uni-directional) and the same thing happens.(boom07) Still pulls to the right.

From searching the forums, a bad Endlink could be the problem. Do the stock endlinks give out?

Also, I have heard that I might have a "bad" tire(?) Is that possible?

The Tech that did the last alignment drove the car and confirmed that it starts to pull when the speeds go up. (Hell, he didn't even charge me full price the last time he did the alignment.)

I haven't taken the rims off to look at the enlinks - raining too much, but other that the Endlinks, is there something else I should look for?

Thanks for any help.

ya i also have the same problem. i get my alignment done for about a month and it goes out. now im down to bold tires... this sucks.

Does it always pull to the right? Have you tried going to a fairly level parking lot to see what happens? Are you sure the car is just not reacting to the crown of the road?

If it pulls in both directions, then it's probably just the fact that you have a tight suspension and sticky tires. Caster will make the car pull, but it's not adjustable in the Pros suspension.

Check your tire pressure also.

exactly what he said ^^^^
an endlink is not going to cause a car to pull. if that is loose then the only thing that will happen is that you won't have a functional swaybar

i have tokico blues and tein stechs and had my alignment done last feb, no uneven tire wear with both sets of wheels. i rotate on a regular basis too.

i have had the car on teh alignment rack probably about 3 times since last feb just to check the specs and they haven't moved a bit and i drive a lot. are you sure your tech got everything right?

I do trust this alignment guy - he is the one Rishie sent me to when he installed my Tockicos and Espilar springs. He drove the car and said he could feel the pull but only at higher speeds.

I just got the feeling its the Falkens - just the nature of those tires.

But, I have not had a brake job done on the car and I'm at 53,000 miles +.
I know I need to have the rear rotors turned - could something with the front brakes cause it to pull?

Thanks all.

dude mine does the exact same. same day i got it aligned, my car wasnt pullin much... but at highway speeds mine was pulling. it ALWAYS pulled to the right never any where to the left. when i drive on the left side n the street is crocked to the left like goin towards the median it juts goes straight... n yes i use level roads to test it, it keeps pullin to the right. n i got worn outside tires to show for it. that was partly my fault for not takin it back to the alignment place cuz the warrenty was over n didnt want to shell out another 65 just to have it go out again.

mines does the same thing, and i jus got an alignment yesterday. i dont mind, but, it shud be going straight haha. i have the stock struts, with eibach prokits.

bump, i know its been a while, but was wondering if you ever got the problem fixed? btw, did that not going straight thing mess up your tires? it did on mine... on my 3rd set in like almost 2 years... this really blows.

This is a long shot but did you check the tire pressures , a differance of a couple psi right to left will make the car pull .

yup, checked mine they're all 35 psi. i did a stupid thing and raised the right side (pulling to the right) and down the left side and thought maybe they might get that stupid pull off. but i decided to reinflat it after a couple of mins of driving. dont want to get on my 4th set yet...

i have personally set my own aligment every oil change and my car pulls to right on the highway. its just the nature of our cars

Nope, still pulls

Yeah, mine still pulls to the right - I've kind of gotten used to it by now, but it's till annoying. With the stock Dunlops, the car never pulled, and when I first installed my set of Faulkens, the car drove straight - then I noticed that thing just started to drift to the right - had it aligned and everything - by two different places - everything was in spec.

I did try the inflation thing: Keep the right side tire (the side the car pulls to) with more air than the left. In the right tire I had like 35psi and on the left I had 28 psi. It seemed to work well - my P5 would go straight down the highway, but eventually would slowly start to drift to the right. Note: I've read on the forums that most people keep the fronts at 32psi and the rears at 30psi.

Unlike AznXstazy, my tire wear is really good. From the other posts, it seems that this could be the nature of our beast - but 3 sets in 2yrs?? There has to be something wrong.

Good luck!

ya i know, i was hoping that maybe i wasnt the only one with this kind of problem. for some reason... my alignment wont stay in spec... when i get it aligned right after they give me the sheet etc it shows its been aligned and its always the right side thats messed up. well after i drive it after i IMMEDIATELY notice the pull to the right still there... if im on a straight road it will still pull to the right... any thoughts? im about to try a DIY alignment that i been reading up on and see how that works out...

Hmmm

If the alignment tech gives you the spec sheet and everything is in spec, then that would eliminated anything bent in the suspension.

Put on the stock rims and tires, if they are available, and check how the car drives. Have you tried a different brand of tire? Have you inspected all four rims?

Check out some aftermarket suspension shops with experience in lowered cars. There also might be some racing shops that do work on street cars and see what they might recommend.

Good luck! Let us know how the DIY works out.

DIY alignment doesnt sound good....maybe your aerodynamics is dragging on the right(scratch)ughh..like something sticking out catching air. see if it pulls in reverse

or dragging bearings or brakes...
