and fatti i cant really wait a couple months lol its hard enough to not boost as it is. lmao but if you feel like speeding up the standalone thing or just go with an aem fic ill send you 220 for the ssafc v2 asap. let me know....

I dont want to sell mine yet.... want to be able to drive car once i finish up with installing the turbolife FMIC.. they pop alot on the FS section so keep your eyes open.

fyi the AEM FIC is like the SSAFC FTC... it can only retard timing.

You can also look into megasquirt too.... if im not mistaken you can tune A/F and Advance and retard timing too. Cheaper and i know someone on here was running it.... just cant remember who.
 
I want something that's easy to work with. I tried my hand at the mpi tuner to no avail. If I could find a megasquirt I would, but I would like to stick to ssafc.

ssafc is cheap.. simple... and we know it works. Plus tons of maps being shared as well.

what intake manifold you going with?

And that's what I like about the ssafc, I already have maps for the Sc. I already did some work to my manifold, and I have taken one from my friends msp so I removed vtcs and did a light port job to pic up a few HP.

What is the capability of this thing? I see it is like 550 bucks..that is more than what a MS would cost to build..just curious.
 
it allows full fuel control and timing retardation. though i didnt buy this unit new. i bought it used.
 
yep. its a split second air fuel controller basically, but allows timing too.
 
got the ssftc all installed and im really no good at tuning it. i still run crazy rich at partial throttle

Only retarding though. On a turbo setup (from my limited limited knowledge) you'd add some retarding as you get higher into the rpm band and boost comes on IIRC.

How are you tuning it? Following steve's tuning guide even with ssafc would probably be beneficial for you if your not already :)

thanks man! ive been trying to do as much research as i can on this tuning. i have it about 70% done id say. under full throttle its still around a 13.5 but WOW!!! the car pulls harder than it ever has before. i cant wait til i dial it in perfectly, and get a little more boost out of the old girl.
 
did some reading in there^^

and now the car is tuned pretty well. even at 2 psi at the moment i believe i can blow away any stock msp. this tuner was probably my best investment yet. i still have some rich spots i have to work out but the car rips!
