Airbag light blinking in a pattern

My wife's 2003 Protege5's airbag light started blinking yesterday. The pattern is 3 long blinks and then 7 shorter blinks. Does anyone know what that means?

the patterns indicate a fault with a specific airbag. The codes are on this forum somewhere, but I cannot remember where. You may be able to find them in the service manual. However, I have run into this issue once or twice, and I have been able to resolve it both times by checking the plugs under the front seats where the side airbags connect to the wire harness. Unplug the plugs, clean them with alcohol and plug them back in. Also make sure all the wires are connected securely to the plugs. If the connectors get dirty or a wire is pulled, they can throw a fault.

Mine has been flashing intermittently the past several days - we have had 100 degree heat and I'm thinking this is the reason. It does not stay on continuously, or stay off, which is what my owner's manual identifies as a problem needing service.
