Air Intake plus more???

Hello P5 owners,

I am just posting this cause I want to get some feedback on Air intakes. I am about to buy one but I wanna buy the best one available for our cars. So can I please get some feedback on which one to buy.

Also I am looking for more mods for my car so if you guy wanna name a few I would love to know. I have about 2,000 to spend but I wanna start out slow with the smaller mods.

Well, if you do the search you'll find tons of info on intakes but its mostly on the Injen CAI and AEM short ram. Try out the search first and get your own opinion, because that what most of us do. MP3Ben made a couple of dyno runs and his results are posted on the Tech Experts forum. Take a look at that for some food for thought.

2 grand is a good start. I'm still saving up, with both car payments and university so my only mods are:

Drop-in K&N (some gains)
Red calipers (that's 50 hp right there :D )
A bubble head monkey (that's 100 hp right there :D )
A good wax job for improved aerodynamics :D j/k

imo - wheels and tires always add a distinct and sportinging look to any ride, particularly if you go +1. They look even better if your car is lowered.

As CanMP5 mentioned....intakes can spark some lively conversation as to which is actually better.....look at them, does the way it looks make a difference as well as how it performs? just things to consider....some will tell you one looks better than the other....from what I have seen....either system will gain you somewhere between 3 to 5 hp.....just a personal preference as to what you like in the looks department.

another mod would be a Cat-Back exhaust system.....do a search for that too....LOTS of information here on that as well.

A short shifter to make the shifting of your car feel a LOT better....there are a few different available on the market....once again...they have been discussed in great detail....search the board.

Springs or coil overs to drop your cars ride height....

Wheels and Tires.....LOTS to look at out there....just be VERY careful to get a wheel that will properly fit our car and not cause interfereance....and rub.....not all tire/wheel shops know what they are doing....

Tunes......you could usgrade the sound system in your car.

that should give you a good start on your $2K

I was looking at the Injen but too pricey. I like to fabricate most of my own pieces. I have fabricated a cowl induction intake for the P5. I had to do some cutting of the firewall, and it uses a K&N filter. I can say there is a quite a diffrence around the 3000 RPM range. Plus the sound is great. I am thinking about offering something like this as a package if the interest is high.

I am also making my own exhaust...:D

many people have fabricated their own intake and put tem up for sale...they've sold quite a few but really i don't think they went over too well with the crowd...a lot of people really like the fit and finish of the injen (you get wat you're paying for)...but if you want to save money there are other options...BigBen sells a custom CAI...for cheap and from what i hear it performs well...but i still like the injen because of the finish...it's just soo darn shiny...:D

sir nuke...you're back!!!
