Air Conditioning Problem

95 here today and A/C seems fine in or out of traffic, so hopefully there's a quick fix for your problem.

That definately sounds like the problem you described. Hope that fixes it.(thumb)

Looks like I might want to take mine in before my trip.

Thanks for the heads up Alpha!

Uhhhh, that link was posted two days ago. It's on the post right before yours from yesterday.

Ha, he was so anxious to post to me that in his rage of Furry, He forgot to read the thread for developments.

No, I just don't read all posts unless they are new and their titles seem to be of interest to me personally.

And where it was listed depends on how you search the forum at any rate...

Man if you think my posting was a furry you lead a very sheltered life ..

I also noticed neither of you posted that TSB as a solution to my posted problem. But you do waste time going on and on about nothing..

Brian MP5T...
I am just reading this thread for the first time - and as an outside observer to the conversation, I did not read any "attitude" in Alpha's initial response(s). It MAY be your perception at that point in time. It is VERY easy to superimpose an inaccurate "tone" or "infection" into someone else's text.

I don't know if you have a previous history that may preclude your objectivity in that regard... but it all seemed civil and harmless in *my* first-pass reading this.

back on-topic... I hope *I* don't run into this when it gets hot here this year.

Scott you are correct... (thumb)

I think he is projecting something on my posts for whatever reason and needs to vent.

If you do encounter this (it appears to only occur when temps are over 100 deg and you slow down or stop) there appears to be a fix. I will post if this cures it. I have to figure when I can take off of work and then when they can fit me in. Once done I won't know until I manage to drive slowly again in 100+ deg temps. So it may be a while before I know if this fix actually solved the problem. If it should reoccur I will also post that...

Why would I post a link that was already posted? And, by your own admission, you might not have read it if the title wasn't interesting to you. Now, seeing as this is your thread and your issue, I don't see how any post wouldn't be of interest to you, especially one with a link in it. That link is highlighted in blue, which stands out and would draw interest if it were me. The bottom line is you didn't read the post that had the answer that you came up with. You could have tried to take care of it two days earlier had you read it. Then, you come and give me some snotty reply, when all I did was point out that the link was already given.

At first I didn't notice any attitude in your response to Brian, but now I'm not so sure. You need to get over yourself.

Everyone back on topic please. I think this debate has escalated unnecessarliy and the tread will be locked of it stays off topic.

CX7 forum provides the answer (again)

This is such a great information resource here...and I just benefited from the knowledge again.

Our '07 GT ran great on the way to/from Cedar Point (major amusement park in Ohio on Lake Erie, if that doesn't ring a bell. Speed-needing folks MUST try the Top Thrill Dragster ride, 120mph in 4 seconds, then 420 feet straight up...and straight down). About 500-ish miles from St. Louis, four of us and luggage, 23-24 mpg.

But then.

Coming back yesterday, upper 90's, running 70+, in western Indiana on I-70, the a/c stops being cold. I tried off/on, different modes, etc. which were no help. Stopped for gas in Effingham, and my mind was thinking back to aftermarket a/c units "back in the day" that would "freeze up" under severe use. So it didn't surprise me when the a/c began working once we got underway again...and that it stopped again 8 minutes later.

So it was a long, hot, final couple hours into St. Louis. We stopped for dinner, and then it worked fine just after as we drove home.

So I dialed up the forum today for a little research before I called the dealer after they opened, and found this a/c TSB...which describes the problem perfectly. I had visions of rounds of diagnostics, "it worked fine while we had it", having to take field service techs on 4 hour road trips, whatever, to reproduce the problem. But not now. Is a known issue with a TSB (long distance, 100'sh temps, condensor anti-frost device doesn't work properly).

I have not had the "no a/c at stops" issue; of course it produces less cooling with lower engine speeds, going to recirc helps some, but it never stops entirely.

Speaking of TSB's, I did get the engine (idle hesitation / power smoothness) and transmission ("surge" or pulsing at highway speeds) applied at my 7500-mile service and they perform as advertised. The power application from a standing stop is much more well-behaved, and the surging at highway speeds is gone. Only thing I did notice is that now it doesn't want to give me the "best" gear on downshifts...it won't give me 3rd from 6th when I think it should and that it used to. No biggie.

My dealer here had not heard of the door seals TSB, so had to order a set for me. To me, it's a shame Mazda isn't doing a recall on those; I'm envisioning lots of unhappy CX-7 owners, esp. over the winter, bitching about how bad dirt/salt/grime build up on the inside of their doors, "seems like Mazda would design it better", "my Toyota never did this", when the fix is known and available. Sigh.

Anyway...too much rambling, but just thankful to find this a/c TSB so quickly!
