Ahhh, Spring

When I worked in Boston...

My regular 93 N/S commute is awful. They sanders drop boulders of salt rock.
I have the OEM tires. I have a second set I bought of a guy on this forum. I thought about changing but the deal he offered was so good.

My winters are Blizzaks REVO's and they've been great in the winter.

My 04 Mz3 Sedan had some major sandblasting damage on it's black nose. I had to drive from 495 via Mass Pike to Congress St in Southie EVERYDAY for 2years and although the Mz3 made the trip very comfortable the drive defintely beat up the littel car with respect to potholes and sanding during the winter months. Still over 50,000 miles in 2 years the Mazda never gave me an ounce of trouble.

FWIW I've found that Black does a helluva better job concealing those nicks and scrapes better than Silver. I find Silver highlights nicks and scratches due to it's hihg contrast quality.

I wish I had that luxury :-)

I think that's fair enough! I bought some rubber off a guy on the forum few thousand miles so I'm very pleased. I decided if it snows or it may snow I will take public transportation to work so I'll be safe. The last big snowfall we had I was so fed up with shoveling and driving in the crappy weather I didn't move my car all week.

Unfortunately there isn't much public transport between Hudson and Natick MA. Other wise I would do the same thing during the winter.:-)

You're lucky...

what was the base?

I think red is pretty bad. I have some that show up white and some show up black underneath. I don't think even a clear 3M bra would have protected the paint. My doors. My roof. Thats why I got the mud flaps. Either way I've come to expect it now and more or less got over it and come to the realization that this is how its going to be and more catastrophic things could occur ... like a motor going *boom* Hell I figure if it bothers me that much still in years to come I'll have it fixed. As long as she still has the pep and nothing internally goes wrong I'm happy.

I know I was scared that it would snow the minute I pulled the winters off. This is one of the reasons I run A/S during the warmer months (Pirelli P-Zero Nero right now). If I lived in a warmer climate I'd go the summer route but for me having A/S gives me some added security just in case we get snowfall in May (!) which has happened in MA.

You guys remember the april 1st storm we got in 98 or 99? 3FT between the time I left for school and when I got home. 3FT!!! on the dot. That was old man winter saying... "You guys like the warm? want spring? well **** YOU! Im crazy old man winter HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!"

You're lucky...

Amen to that, not much of anything in hudson.

Im ordering my clear bra soon for the front of my car. Detailing and clearbra install party at my house! Anyone in?

I do believe the black had a white base, but I can't be sure. I also think I'm a bit more obsessive about the MS3 nose. I think it's better looking than the Mz3 especially the hatch.

Did you're motor go boom?

Confidentailly I think the motor issues have been blown way out of proportion and fleeced with a bit of abuse from modding. My MS3 drives like a well-oiled machine and feels solid as a rock. I can't imagine it breaking...

I'd love to do a clear bra

But I can't rationalize it becasue my twisted mind keeps telling me I would have to clear bra the entire car! :-)

no it did not. I believe it did get blown out of proportion as well. But like there are worse things than more than average paint chips... hell i was rear ended twice in three months.

I'm not surprised...

Boston Drivers are a PITA. The Mass Pike is the worst. Drivers come up on me and stick within 3 feet of my rear bumper. They have no concept of stopping.

Yeah the only time I was rear ended was in Boston... Barely left a mark but I flipped... Whoops.

Last year

Yeah the only time I was rear ended was in Boston... Barely left a mark but I flipped... Whoops.

I got rear ended on rt 20 in Shrewsbury by this guy who was texting in his Taurus. The funny thing is that I tried to get away from him and he followed me and then ended up rear-ending me at the intersection of 20 and 9.

I completely lost it. Luckily I have a good body shop

I got rear ended in medford on rt 16 near boston ave guy hit me doing prob 40 mph never even tried to stop. last thing i remember was thinking "Wow this guy is right on top of me"

second time was in the rain going into the onielle tunnel SB from the zachim. My accord was being fixed i was in my brother's jetta and i got rear ended by the most beautiful southern belle on a business trip in a rental. I was so pissed then i saw it was her and I was like oh are you okay is there anything I can do for you!?
