When I worked in Boston...
My 04 Mz3 Sedan had some major sandblasting damage on it's black nose. I had to drive from 495 via Mass Pike to Congress St in Southie EVERYDAY for 2years and although the Mz3 made the trip very comfortable the drive defintely beat up the littel car with respect to potholes and sanding during the winter months. Still over 50,000 miles in 2 years the Mazda never gave me an ounce of trouble.
FWIW I've found that Black does a helluva better job concealing those nicks and scrapes better than Silver. I find Silver highlights nicks and scratches due to it's hihg contrast quality.
My regular 93 N/S commute is awful. They sanders drop boulders of salt rock.
I have the OEM tires. I have a second set I bought of a guy on this forum. I thought about changing but the deal he offered was so good.
My winters are Blizzaks REVO's and they've been great in the winter.
