Aggressive fitment anyone?!

yea someone actually posted a link a while back that said running big tire is actually worse then running stretched tire
because the bead can pop off alot easier or something like that..

i would do it man

I don't think I've ever read anything about it before, but just thinking about it, this was the conclusion I came to... Seems like it would be way easier to pop off the bead with too much tire, vs. too little; comparatively anyways.

yea it was in sumthaiguy's thread, when he posted his stretched tire everybody was freakin out and then someone posted that link about the big tire vs. small tire

but idk alex, you can try it i guess, people thought stretched tire was unsafe at first but ive only heard about like 3 cases where the tire popped off or shredded

What is the difference in say, a 4x4 running a super wide tire on a smaller rim, and doing it on a car...

Much more sidewall to aid in flex. But honestly, idk know because I've never done it. Lol, if you don't like our advice, than put on 245's anyways and show everyone that it's no biggie. ;)

Scratch, I wouldn't be worried about the bead popping off the rim. The reason I said not to do that on a 7" rim is that it will acually decrease your 'performance'. Stiffer sidewalls is what improves handling, a 245/45 on a 7" rim is going to have a softer sidewall(the buldge) than a 225/45 would. Big meat is good but what good is it, if it isn't stiff? (pun intended)

Ok, thanks a bunch because that helped a lot...I am obviously from looking at my car not worried about performance, although I do have quite a bit done...I am a visual freak though...I like it to look different, like to do different things, and while everyone else is stretching tires, I was to go with big ones...my main concern was the bead popping off, but didn't see really think it would happen, so that advice really does help...thanks...

yea man, you may need to look into how much they would buldge, you may have issues in the rear (stupid wagons) just like any other widened setup.

I am going to run the 225's in the rear (on the front now) and just order some 245's for the rims that are on the back currently...

This one's for your Wagon!!

get your own wheels!!! mine have been ordered since february! go back to the Work Emotions... i have those too but in flat black actually..

where the hell is all this flush and poke love coming from.. everyone hated it when justin and i talked about it last summer..

btw CCW is far from JDM.. they are out of the states... hardly japan. and you said you are turning into a vdub which is also hardly jdm... that is the EURO scene

kids these days

ive always loved stretch and poke but im a vw kid lol

My 18's are stretched and I have had no issues with that and I had tires on my vr-4 for years that were stretched even more. The only down side is if you hit a curb your rim is toast. No sidewall to help save it.

yo silver...specs on your last fitment? looks very close to mine set up - curious if rears are +30 - +22

Thats why you learn how to park properly. lol. I've curbed rims maybe 3 times in my whole 4 years of driving. (hump)
