Aftermarket radio question...

They don't hit hard with a 400 watt amp but they sound awesome

I had a 600 watt planet audio for the xplod a and they hit hard as hell I usually had them turned way down unless showing off

Pioneer head unit, it has Bluetooth hands free calling and audio streaming which worked great with my old phone but isn't compatible with my new iPhone. It has rear usb and aux inputs which I have run to the glovebox, where I just leave my 80 gb iPod all the time. I have full control of the iPod through the head unit, including access to playlists, artist lists, search, etc. which is useful with 3000 songs :)

The head unit runs to three-way Pioneer speakers up front and two-way Pioneer speakers in back, along with a Memphis Audio PR12 subwoofer powered by a JL Audio 250 watt sub amp. The system is awesome.

The amp is now mounted underneath the driver's seat.

LOVE Memphis! That's what I always ran. GREAT stuff.

Also...I think I am going to go the Alpine CDE-HD137BT route as I don't think I am liking the double din look and the Pioneer button and interface aren't my favorite...

The hardest part I've always had is picking out something I like, that sounds good, and color matches the dash. Which is a big reason I picked out the xplod I have as it was the only stereo crutch field had that changed colors under 200 that wasn't junk. Of course a month after I got it they had a kenwood that I liked better. But as often as I go through cars I'm glad I got it as the dash lights in my 323 are orange and I made a custom color to match it perfectly.

JVC indash nav / dvd / hdradio. Its okay but doesn't have turn by turn directions that you can see ahead of time. It gets me where i need to go but it doesn't tell me how i am getting there.

Hank3 (I sent you a PM but it wasn't showing up in my sent box)
I was looking at the part numbers you listed to install the aftermarket and does it matter which vehicle I buy it for? There are five pages worth of options. I am guessing the one (since it is a protege) is the "2000 - MAZDA - PROTEGE - - L4 - 1.8L - GAS" on the bottom of page two for the pocket and the "2000 - MAZDA - MILLENIA - - V6 - 2.3L - GAS" for the cross bar bracket?

Thanks for the assistance! My new radio is just waiting the other parts prior to installation.

Ford removal kit? You mean the 2 metal thin bar looking things? I pulled the cover off mine and I can probly get 2 small flat screw drivers in there.

I have a question about aftemarket sytems. I have a Kenwood head unit, Rockfosgate subs and sound ordinance amp. I have a whislting sound coong through my subs, kinda like its picking up some virbation from my car. The power wire is ran on the opposite side of the car from the rest of them. It still does it but not as bad now, im not sure what else i can do to stop this sound or what is causing it. Can anyone please help me?
