Aftermarket parts

I'm interested in adding some aftermarket parts to my MS3 and was wondering how important is it to get all you parts from the same company? I would assume parts from the same company would be made to work with each other. So would it be bad to mix and match parts from different companies? Thanks for the help.

Depends on what type of parts; engine, suspension, electronics, etc. But usually Tuner shops build up their "Private Label" MS3s with their own products and violently test them, so IMHO the best route is stay true to one tuning shop.

CPE, COBB, and Autoexec are the big players that round out the catergories, but you might find other growing contributors out there.

Personally, I'd go with COBB. They are well renowned and actually race their cars in events, instead of just making them look pretty for car shows.

if you search around this site you'll see a majority of ppl picking the same parts, that's a good sign that particular equipment has been tried and true.

Look at my sig, three different companies, three different mods. I haven't had a single problem, not even at my dealership. No CELs, nothing. Just research first and buy quality parts, and the 'name' doesn't matter. OR find a 'name' you trust which also makes quality parts (COBB) and stick with them if that's important for you.

I for one, am about to install a corksport downpipe and racepipe. I am assuming that there will be less fitment issues than if I had bought them from two difference companies.

But like BluMicaR said, I've got other mods from turbo xs, cobb, and corksport, and my car is happy as can be

Be careful about exhaust mods. Most of them should fit fine, but if you are going to mod piece by piece, I have heard of several fitment issues when mixing and matching companies.
