aftermarket head unit mounting kit?

Does anyone know who sells a mounting kit for our cars? I am installing a single din radio, and want to know the best and easiest way to go about doing so. Any suggestions?

Go to any specialty shop. It should be around $15-20. Metra and Best Kits are two good brands. Do you have the radio already? I have a very high end eclipse I am getting rid of, I will even include the mounting kit, harness, and even a sirius tuner for free!

I got mine from Circuit city when they closed up, most shops like best buy and such have them for 15-20, though if you really want the cool mp3 pocket with a door on it, you'll pay a mint.

I got my radio from Crutchfield.com and they give you the harness and pocket for free. They also sell pockets separately if you already have the radio.

Go on ebay. You get the plastic thingamajig and the wiring harness for about 20 shipped. You'll prolly end up paying 20 for the surround and 20 for the harness at the store.

yeah, I have a kenwood in dash DVD player with the fold out 7in screen. I just picked it up and I wanted to get a decent mounting kit. By the way how much for the eclipse, do you have a picture of it?

An msp or mp3 pocket will give you a clean stock look. The install kits always look cheap imho.

+1

Make a fs thread cuz my pioneer just died.

I like this mounting kit, although the pocket doesn't look big enough to stick your hand in to.

It is a bit narrow but you can get your fingers in there. The thumb drive is the only thing I ever put in it. I love the MSP pocket with the door on it, but $85.00? That's almost what I paid for the radio!

yeah 85 dollars for the pocket with the door on it is a ridiculous price. If I could find one cheap I would pick it up. I'll just do with the one I got from Best Buy for now, and keep my eyes open for something better down the road.

I received mine for free when I ordered my receiver from Crutchfield. I actually just installed it this weekend and It looks great. I was afraid it would look cheap but the receiver/surround/pocket came out looking very nice and better than the original receiver. Getting the receiver out was a PITA as I broke 2 of the clips.

The pocket is small. If you place anything small in it and it slides all the way to the back, most likely you will not be able to get your hand in there to get it out. I only have my ezpass in it.

I am at work at the moment, I will try to get a picture up. It is on Ebay at the moment, just look up Eclipse CD8455!

alright, I checked out that radio you are selling. Nice radio, although I just bought one for my car. If I hear of anyone looking for an Eclipse head unit I will tell them about your. I am trying to sell my old radio as well. It's a Jensen indash cd-dvd player.

Thanks, it is an awesome head unit, I don't want to get rid of it. Alas, new house, the wife wants to start trying for a little one soon, just got the avic-f90, I just don't need it lying around doing nothing! Here are some pics.

I believe I still have the plastic adapter for a single din radio. I ordered a double off crutchfield and they sent the shroud anyways...weird.

So if anyone wants it I'll try to find it and check shipping and let you know.
