After market reverse camera for OEM display (Sport model) - questions

about to pull the trigger on this:

I know a few of you have them, but before I spend the $$$, I need a little help. I have a Sport model, with the 5.8 touch display. Does this work on the Sport model? And how do you 'work' it? Do you have to run wires or is it plug-in?

Any help is appreciated.

Judging by the eBay ad, it is plug and play but you have to run the wires from the camera to the head unit. As it happens, I installed a different aftermarket camera last night, and I am writing up a How To on how to run the wires as we speak. I'll have that up sometime tonight in the How To section.

The advert does say 6.1" while the CX-5 display is 5.8" (as you pointed out in your OP).

dawhoo.....I bought this exact camera from ebay and installed it. IT IS PLUG AND PLAY. Although it took me a month to install it because of my schedule, it was very easy to do. The most difficult part was having to remove the hatchback panels to run the wire to the outside handle/license plate light thing. The image is great during the day....just like the ebay photo. The image at night is kind of grainy, but decent with the backup lights.

I ordered mine yesterday. I really like my CX-%, but that rear window isn't much of a view. Mine should be here soon ..
