The BMW cost double that of the Mazda CX5 and the X5 I had didn't have AWD, it was RWD. The AWD would have topped the sticker price at around $80k. It guzzled gas and got maybe 15-20mpg city.
Here is the pricing for 2016 BMW X5 all trims:

WRONG!

It doesn't show the option packages which can easily add another $20k to the pricetag
You said earlier that "The AWD would have topped the sticker price at around $80k." and I listed the pricing info and an AWD is merely $57,000 MSRP! Most people are getting Xdrive35i AWD for their X5 with Premium Package for additional $2,550 MSRP. With a few other options added and price discount people are paying around $62K for an X5:

Well, my dad only paid 62k for the Xdrive 35i V6 TURBO

My pricing info listed for 2016 BMW X5 is 100% correct and if you use large bolded characters to dispute my claim, please show us a link or other info to prove me wrong!

And since you're accusing me taking the place of an MIA guy, I'll defend my post to no end like he does, but in a much polite manner... ;)

How would you know what people are getting? Do you work for a BMW dealership? Do you have access to BMW sales info?

The pricing you quotes is BASE price with NO options and it's next to impossible to find those cars because BMW adds options from the factory and that base price climbs hard and fast.

The reality is in the pricing seen here, at a typical BMW dealership:

http://www.bmwnorthscottsdale.com/inventory-phoenix-new_cars-bmw-x5-sort_pricedesc-page_2.html

$70k+ BMW X5s with the top of the line X5 pushing $88k

Sure you can TRY and get a stripped down version but any AWD version will have factory add-on options that will push the price into the $70k-$80k range. Add tax to that price and you add another $8k plus to the OTD pricing

BMW has STOOPID option prices. When I was looking at an E92 M3, I stacked on the things I would have wanted, and the damn thing gained $20K before I could blink. NOONE buys a stripper BMW. NOONE. Seriously. Go look for one on a lot. Good luck!

It's quite apparent you DO NOT like the Mazda CX5 and have been ripping on it for a while because you don't want the vehicle anymore. I will let you do the talking for yourself:

So you're giving up on your 2016 CX-5.... I don't blame you though!

I'll do the same if I could get $27K.

OK, great, sell your CX5 and move on with life.

Exactly. Well put. The "BASE" price is just that, an imagery starting price point that nobody ever pays or gets. Once you add the options most people want, the vehicle price has grown by $20k or more. Finding a stripped down BMW is next to impossible.

It's easy to find 2016 BMW X5 AWD for low $60K's. OP's father did it:

Well, my dad only paid 62k for the Xdrive 35i V6 TURBO

Checking at the inventory of our BMW dealer, I can easily find three 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35i AWD's for under $62K MSRP, another three for under $65K MSRP:

Classic BMW 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35i

This is totally against your claim:
The BMW cost double that of the Mazda CX5 and the X5 I had didn't have AWD, it was RWD. The AWD would have topped the sticker price at around $80k.

BTW, you can get base model X5 if you really want it, just special order one.

So you simply took my words out of context at your convenience! Here is my original post:

Stopped in to the Toyota dealer last night. They offered me $27K for my CX5 on a fully loaded Prius. Signed the deal - told them about the tranny and they said - get it fixed - and by the time your car is located and transported we will be good to go
So you're giving up on your 2016 CX-5.... I don't blame you though!

$27K for your 2016 CX-5? That's an excellent trade-in value! Our 2016 CX-5 GT w/Tech could only get $22K trade-in even if it gets fixed by PDR with new windshield.

I'll do the same if I could get $27K. Not a Prius but a Lexus RX or NX where my wife has always been wanted.
If our CX-5 had transmission problem like DBLXX did at such early stage, and we could get such outrageous trade-in value at $27K, I definitely would have traded our CX-5 in for something else, like a Lexus RX and NX where my wife has always wanted. She for sure would lose confidence to our CX-5 and refuse to drive it even if the transmission got replaced!

I personally persuaded 6 friends and families bought CX-5 for the past couple of years, including my wife who desperately wanted a Lexus. If you really like your CX-5, how many of your friends and families bought a CX-5 under your recommendations?

It's very strange that I posted some facts and some people are getting irritated! I like this post:

I used to have a 2007 x5. It was good for a heavy Suv. But cx5 out corners x5. Mpg is bad and it requires premium gas. If you have money.... I don't have money to throw away any more.
