hoenstly afgan is prob safer and more enjoyable in china... id still by life insurance theres nothing i can do if someone trys to screw my family out of something i have no control over.

china is a very crowded racist country unless your are of a asian culture.

we'll get the red carpet when we go there though, cause we will be working directly for the govt. and the insurance is included ANY time I go overseas... no worries there... and I know about what China is like... I'm NOT looking forward to it... the main reason Afganistan is going to pay so well is the whole 6 months away from home, living in a tent (albeit a nice one with A/C and internet)

no matter where you go, sell me your car before you go!

uuuuum... no?

well hell, if I DID go to Afganistan I figure I could buy a new M3.... CASH when I got back.. lol

hahahahah i love how you civilian guys that would go there to just build a road would get paid $8000 a ******* month. and the Marines guarding your asses, living is worse conditions and would be the ones in the most danger only get paid about 1,200 a month for your average Lance Corporal... whats wrong here.... sorry maybe thats the Marine inside of me talking.. :P

wrong choice of occupation maybe? I have nothing but respect for servicemen. dont get me wrong...

and I would gurantee we would be the higest paid sub contractor over there... we happen to own and operate a very highly specialized machine... actually 25 of them. which does a job that no other machine in the world can do properly. I guess it only helps us that we own everyone of these machines ever made.

its a resonant pavement breaker.... watch the videos for it to make any sense... there is one under the highway section, and one under the airport section.

and even then you have to see it in person to appreciate it...

Iwhen I started with the company I was an operator, then I became a superintendant, running jobs. and now I do all the electrical wiring, and design for these things. they get updated at the rate of about 5 a year or so I keep pretty busy doing that. you wouldn't believe the number of wires in one of these things... it takes me about a week to wire one...

Plus, you can say you hands-on helped rebuild a country. How many people can say that?
hahhahhaha i help tear apart a country! how many people can say that? ::BANG::BANG::

sorry couldn't help it

umm thier fixing the road, read the links its iraq bush is ******* up people put those two together non stop we were hardly in afgan....

Dude
Go for it. I was there from Sep 2002 to Jan 2003. I was in the Army then. I was at Bagram Airbase. The winter there is not as cold as in the states. Daytime is around 30-40 but at night it dips down to the teens and every now and then in the single digits. Now this is for Bagram that is 5,000ft above sea level. In Kabul is alot warmer and in Kandajar there is almost no winter. Also remember that this is dry cold and the sun always shine there. I will say that is Afghanistan is a lot safer than in Irak. As for the time away from the family since you will be working 7 days a wekk the time goes fast and with internet you always in contact with them. For the money I will do it if the oportinity comes.

If a lance Corporal was paid $8000/mo could you imagine the deficit?!!! Billions and billions more! And how much a general would make then?!

Why don't u be an Alaskian King Crab fisherman? Just as dangerous(or more)but the pay is better: around 125k for 3 mo. work. (lol2)

from what i've heard and read it is safer in iraq than in afghanistan....

lol.. its funny that it would take people being able to bring their car more than the people who would do it for $77k for 6 months work
