AFC Version II on its way...

ok sorry been busy with the possible timing additions...at any rate no you will still need the input unit for the wideband in order to output to the afc. the gb will be up probably mid next week. I meant to have it up this week, but we've been working on a few additions I think you guys will like if all works out for the same prices...

While you are at it DSM, how about cooking something up for the MS6? That would be REALLY nice!

I dyno tuned mine and got about 250WHP/265TQ at 11-12PSI with my version I. Which for the amount of boost, I think is good. BUT, KEEP YOUR CEL/MIL OFF! And, I was usin` 440cc injectors, but I`m not sure that`s necessary (if u can do it with stock injectors take my advice and do it). Stock internals. kicker`s gettin 242 or so at 14psi on stock internals with 440cc injectors. Man, I`m all late at postin` this...
My opinion, it`s ok for lower HP, just a little extra boost, save money, a good add-on for ppl hoo dont wanna dyno tune or get a WB02, etc. The resolution on the RPM side kinda sucks...

Is it possible to reach my goal of 250whp with one of these?

Split Second (the maker of the AFC heer) makes an FTC (fuel timing calibrator) but I`m not sure if the MAZDASPEED Protege likes it? It may be fine... e-mail www.splitsec.com and they should know if their FTC will work for the MPS. Version I AFC FOR the MPS is the PSC1-020.

Sounds good. Keep up the good work.

Any news on Modules to update V1?

Looks like I will be upgrading to V2, don't need timing control.

I will be in the market for the AFC Version 1 in 3 weeks to two and a half weeks. Depending on the Group Buy price on the Version II I may just get that if the version 1 is going to cost me near the amount.

ok guys update...we should have the afc II GB up beginning of next week...just had to iron out a few wrinkles first....for those of you who are looking for version Is, as I promised I did temporarily halt production on version 1s to create a shortage so that those looking to sell used AFCs would have a market in which to do so in preparation for version II. However, it seems to have backfired b/c I currently have a waiting list 5 deep for people who say they can't find a used afc and want to go ahead and get a new one. SO I will be resuming production of the version 1s next week to meet the demand. So in short version 2 GB will be up early next week, version 1 will be back on production at normal price next week also.

So if I put this on my turbo P5 I can control all of the fuel settings and would there be any additional equip needed. I can't find much info on the 1st version.

Is this version gonna be pnp !?

Bump for my question... and, beside the addition of the real time monitoring and logging of some datas like O2, boost, voltage, etc, is there something new about how the AFC actually works. Like, is there been some improvement in the way the AFC work and change the A/F or its basically the same thing as in the first version !? Im asking that because Im currently debating if Im gonna go with the first or the new version!

Thanks :)

Wing, the afc will not be pnp and will work the same way a/f adjustment wise. As far as timing, we are still finagaling with that. At this point I would have to say no though. You could run this on a p5, however I would suggest a full standalone setup. I had a mx6 that I did a custom t3/t4 build and running a standalone was well worth the money tuning and safety wise...

well its your call...you can get by with a piggyback that controls timing and fuel, but in my experience this usually ends up being just as expensive...the big thing is you're going to want to pull timing like a siv at anything over 5K, due to the n/a ecu...

Wing, yes we're the only ones that sell the msp version...(airflowlogistics=dsmconvert)
