AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

i need to get an adapter cable so i can connect to my laptop. i want to try out some new maps

^^^ same here, I would try to get one that is longer than the one that I got, mine was only 6" with the adapter piece, and I only had another 6-8" extension DB9 pin cable connected to it, but ya it works great, I gone mine at staples, mine was pretty expensive at $40 but I saw some for cheaper at some places

hey, those of you guys who have 440cc injectors and an aftermarket fuel rail/ fuel gauge/pressure regulator and stuff, I need some help, when you guys first got the ssafc and with the 440cc injectors, what were your wideband readings like, because my brother's car has 440cc RC injectors with some fuel rail and the pressure gauge/regulator which is at about 20psi when on, he has a ton of other stuff too but anyways, when I had the stock injectors in it ran pretty good but I didn't have the wideband in then, now that I have the wideband and the 440cc injectors back in, the wideband is reading around 14.7-15 around idle, but then when it goes into any kind of boost it stumbling like crazzyy and has a hard time building any boost, I assume because it is bogging the engine down like crazy, but the strange thing is that the afr show "--" or really really lean, I know that when I hit fuel cut or when the car bogs down a lot on my car, the WB will read super lean, but since I have the stock injectors, and the car is tuned/running well, the car goes right back to 11.5ish or whatnot in boost.

soo, my point is, has anyone with the 440cc injectors, with, or without the aftermarket fuel rail/gauge and stuff seen this kind of problem before, I want to load a 440cc map, but I want to make sure that the WB is reading really lean sometimes because it is bogging down, and not because it is actually really lean (also I had a very slight exhaust leak from the S pipe before, but I have tightened those bolts down as hard as I could and I am almost 99% sure that it is leak free but I dono), just need some help, thanks.. this car is kinda being a PITA still

I believe that the fuel pressure that He has is too low. stock FP is 42psi. Try raising that up first.

oh damn, ya I thought that was pretty low, anyone that has the 440cc injectors know what the fuel pressure would be about, or would it be around the same?.. and wagon what do you mean as far as changing the tune when I change the injectors? when I had the stock injectors in, I hadn't installed WB or the ssafc at the time, I kind of wish I had waiting to put his old 440cc injectors back in until I saw how the tune worked out, but I was waiting till I saw how the stock supermap ran before I went to one of the 440cc maps, I will try raising the fuel pressure first and see what happens, the way the previous owner built this car was terrible, still trying to fix his short cut crap a year later lol, but thanks for the info

I recommend Belkin.

no need for specific brand, if you take care of a cable it will last you. im a computer guy so im not some random jerkoff giving lame advice. just like i wouldnt recommend walmarts 50$ HDMI cables when you can get them from newegg.com for about lowest 4$ to walmarts 50$ to monster cables 100$ and they are all the same exact thing. same goes for serial ports (the plug on SSAFC)
so here, do yourself a favor and get this one, its long and its USB (universal serial bus) so it can connect to any computer within the last 15 years or so.

i would recommend just getting a cheap laptop with a serial port. you wouldn't believe how much better it is than using a usb-to-serial adapter.

save yourself the headaches, the freezing, the BSODs and just get an old lapotp for about 100 $ with serial ports

i was just suggesting usb to serial for the universatility if thats a word haha. everything has usb, but now adays its hard to find serial in a non business based laptop.

I agree there are some instances where brand doesn't matter, but I would be careful since I bought a no name brand to begin with (Sabrent) for $15 and it was a piece of ******* s***. The connection was loose, the driver disk was broken on arrival, and best of all I couldn't get any drivers online that actually worked!

i wouldnt think itd be a good idea IMO, because the p5 ecu is not programmed to handle boost at all, unless it is? so how could the ssafc trick the ecu to change its values at boost when the p5 ecu doesnt know what boost is?

the AFC doesn't trick the ECU into thinking it sees boost (or different boost), in fact the MSP ECU has no more idea what boost is than the P5 ECU does, all it knows is the mass of the air being processed through the engine, and its set up to tune for levels that the non turbo version is basically incapable of... the piggyback adjusts fuel trims ACCORDING to boost. Same concepts should theoretically work in vacuum.

well i understand how the ssafc works, it changes the signals from the o2 sensor or something along those lines, but what im saying is how can the p5 ecu know what to do when the amount of air coming into the engine when the mani is at 5psi compared to when its under a vacuum. i wounldnt be surprised if i was wrong, its just what id think in my head.

basically, you're still thinking the ECU has the first clue what 'psi' is. It doesn't. It knows that X MAF voltage means I deliver Y fuel (under any other given set of circumstances)... the piggyback just changes it so that at X MAF voltage, V boost pressure, and Z RPMs, I change X by n, so that the end fuel delivery is Y +/- a certian amount, based on the tune.

idk if thats going to help... but thats what I'm trying to say.

if your on windows 7 then you dont need drivers for sure, if your on windows xp then i doubt you need drivers. if your on mac then good luck being compatible with 85% of the world (wiggle)

i know we have a MAF but i could have sworn there is another sensor in the far left corner of the engine bay that measures the pressure of the intake mani. (MAP)

im prob wrong though lol
