all i can say is...WHAT A DIFFERENCE AN INTAKE MAKES...i had my doubts abou the AEM cold air intake, but after today i have changed my tune. the install took very little time, and came with VERY clear instructions...the MAF wasn't even a problem...i can actually hear the stock BOV now and it as if gained about a 1.5 lbs of boost...not to mention the killer sound...if anyone out there is still looking for an intake...it's worth checking out...

sorry about that guys...i meant to say it felt like i gained...and yes i have the cold air...the only problem with the cold air is that the day after i installed it the weather man told me two hurricanes were headed my way and my whole area is gonna be flooded...does anyone have a roof i can park my car on? lol...

On RX-7's, when you add things like an intake or exhaust the boost increases.

My MSP did not and has not gained boost from air mods. At least not a gauge-able amount from an intake and full downpipe-back exhaust system.

The gain a car gets from an intake system is barely able to be physically felt. I think I read it takes like 6 or so horsepower for the human body to even be able to notice. Butt dyno's are not accurate.

After adding my FMIC, DP, Injen CAI, and catback, I picked up nearly a 2 psi spike vs stock...
I actually had to remove my mbc after I added the FMIC. Before the FMIC(but with mbc, cai, dp, exhaust), I was peaking at 10psi. After installing the FMIC it went to almost 11.5. I'm flashed and didn't feel comfortable over 10psi. I removed the DP and put the boost controller back in, and I'm holding 10.5.
I don't think it necessarily adds boost, it just frees up the air enough to get it tp spike a little higher. Whether it holds that consistently varies.

That would make more sense on the amount of things you have done.

From what I remember you get substantially more boost when upgrading RX-7's. That 2psi seems pretty minimal compared to other vehicles I've seen.

His turbo just spools up faster with the intake and makes it feel like it has more boost. Mine spools up much faster with my intake also.
