What are the prices on the AEM and Injen CAI's?? Any suggestions on which one?? Really want an intake soon, but the MHP seems a little overpriced for such an unknown name...kinda leanin to AEM...dunno..

Another question....if i did go with MHP...how did u all order it? U give yer CC # to em and order online, or what?? Gotta be safe here...don't want any trouble with unsecure sites....thanx

I ordered my AEM right after it came out, and paid 205.00 (that includes shipping). I found a site for Lightning Motorsports (I know the Lightning part is right) in LA. I called, they shipped it right out- and I had it a few days later.

Is the AEM short ram effective in our cars??? I heard that we gotta have a CAI due to the heat under the hood....gotta make sure it works good....read about the MHP in the Group /buy....sounds like s$%t to me....

I would recommend the AEM. Pics are located here: http://www.protegemp3.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=000095 (though it looks a lot better in blue) I have a lot of faith in AEM's R&D. I have bought mods from them in the past for Hondas, and everything they build is top quality. I spoke w/ an AEM tech before I bought mine, and he said that they had no plans to build a conventional CAI. They found that more power was gained by the short ram, and if you haven't looked at the pics- notice the filter location. Heat rises, the filter is not located at the top of the engine bay, it is sucking air from the bottom of the car, + it has a shorter distance to travel before it is used (which means cooler air as well). My last two points are just an observation, but regardless, I love mine and if you get it I think you will be extremely satisfied w/ the gains... As long as your not one of those guys that thinks he will get 20HP from an intake. My .02, nothing more.

Good luck in your search,

The AEM is definately a decent intake, but they placed their filter in a really bad position. Right behind the radiator and right next to the transmission. The short ram intakes tend to give more torque on the lower RPMs, but the HP at the higher RPMs won't be as great as the CAI. With CAI's, the torque in the midrange RPMs will be better, but the HP on the top end should be really nice. I'm basing this info off of the results I've seen on my Civic and Dyno results I've seen on other NA cars. Of course, I could be wrong and our cars could be the complete opposite from every other NA car on the market, but that is highly unlikely.

I've got Injen CAI, and I'm really pleased with it. It gives the engine a nice, deep growl. I dunno how much mine was, since it was a gift.. but yeah.
