AEM ems for Mazda Protege 01+

Damn it... lagging behind on everything ;). Slower on my build, slower on my EMS, slower on the 1/4 probably, and slower on the w00tage!

Have a good one guys!

Beau just called, the last big obstacle has been hurdled. The AEM will now operate sequentially without shaving cams!! All stock sensors have been calibrated! In your face Haltech, Emanage, Microtech, etc. (nuts)
WOOTT WOOTT!

Good job...

hate to break it to you, but the emanage works with all the stock sensors and there are no shaving of the cams...(smash) don't see what your point is...

LOL!!! AEM is so far beyond emanage... I don't really see what YOUR point is.

(scratch)

Lol!

May as well say it now, let's keep it civil. Don't take anyone's opinion of the EMS you choose to use as a personal attack.

We have had it running for sometime, but it was not the way it should be. It was running with 2 of the cam gears teeth shaved, No IAC and a few other hooky things done. We had to get it running so we knew what things needed to be done in order to make it work once we got the software fixed so we did not have to shave any cam gear sync teeth. That day is now here.

In order for me to release the AEM fully I felt we needed to be able to use the software fully. We needed to run Sequential without shaving the cam gear teeth. For example:

The Protege run's on a waste spark setup(2 coils).1-4 and 2-3 coils fire exactly at the same time. For a full sequential setup and to maximize your combo this has to go bye bye. Well now you can. You can run and MSD ignition, individual coils and fire full sequential. Looking for Vehicle speed boost control, now you got it. The list goes on and on.

And He saw that it was good

We are still in testing right now.Retail will be around $2150-$2195(estimate) for the AEM EMS and harness. You will still need a MAP sensor.Since this thread was started AEM raised there pricing on the EMS.

LOL, i know it is, not disputing that, i just thought it was funny that he was acting like the AEM could do something that the emanage couldn't...besides having COMPLETE control of course...(rofl2)

I'm sorry 1fastmsp, I didn't know that the emanage operates in sequential mode. I"m editing my comments now...

A piggyback will fire sequential(or what stock fires) because it's just that, a piggyback. The stock ECU will run everything until it reaches a parameter that is set so the piggyback takes over.Currently to my knowledge the only standalone system for the protege that is set up to run sequential is NONE.Now the Microtech and AEM(both in testing) are both setup to run sequential but neither one is released yet.

As it stands our system will require not wire cutting and will be a PnP.We are throwing the idea around of selling to knowledgeable people the AEM without the harness. This will bring the cost down several hundred dollars.

What I'd be interested in... but this would be something that Beau and Nick and Juan and myself would have to work out, is to post a specification sheet set of each of the SUPPORTED EMS's that are on market or coming shortly. (E-Manage isn't really vendor supported ... if you follow what I'm doing here). And make it clear what each one can and can't do, and what the features REALLY are. Then it'll be much easier for people to know what each is capable of and what each can't do. That way more informed decisions can be made and there won't be so much arguing and heresay and so forth. Have a nice solid reference so that we know what each EMS does or does not do.

Once Beau is comfortable releasing the AEM I will start a new thread with all the information in the front (I'll even reserve some postings). All the ems threads get too lengthy to read, ie. I stopped reading the emanage thread long ago because everyone was having problems with it and that's all the thread was about. If it is up and working, I would like to know more about it as well as NSN's Microtech (when it's ready of course ;)).

Sounds good. The AEM will be first out it looks like, so I certainly encourage anyone who is in need of a system right now to get it! Beau has put a lot of hard work into it and the sales are definitely earned.

A good thread with some straight info will be beneficial to everyone. We just don't need another thread falling into arguments, it turns too many people off and does no one any good.

I don't see this happening.
It's like comparing apples to oranges.Every system has it's pros and cons.To have the manufacturer or supporter to be honest and post those is a slim chance.I just don't see someone posting the bad in there product.

I have no problem doing this and tell my customers the pros/cons all the time on my products, but I don't see it happening with everyone.

If you want to PM Juan, Nick and let them know what you have inmind and start a thread that will work for me, but I see it turning into a bickering match..
I can see someone posting all the pros on their product, then posting a few cons and having another vendor come in and say,"It also does not do this, this or this."
I see it being way to throw small/large digs on the other persons product inorder to make yours(who ever is posting) look that much better..

Example:
Ours is a Grand less and does alot of the same things.
Ours doesn't have cold start issues
Ours has been run on many cars and not having issues,
We have made X-amount of power with our system, etc.
