Adding a review view camera for Sport

I am adding a rear view camera for a Sport model. Does any one know if the wiring exists for the rear view camera from the rear hatch to the front audio unit or do I have to run all new cables? Also does anyone know where to get a workshop manual. If I had that I could look up the wiring.

Thanks

No I am replacing the standard sport Radio with a JVC KW-AV60BT. It has a 6 in screen with rear view camera inputs in the back. Pretty much all of the radios of this type Alpine, Kenwood, etc have an input for a rear view camera.

Even if the wiring does exist, chances are it won't be compatible with the license mounted camera / aftermarket radio you are getting.

There are systems that send the image to your rear view mirror. (system clips over oem mirror, has LCD screen built in)

I have the touchscreen radio, does anyone know what would be required to add the back up camera?

The Touring and GT got the touchscreen radio as standard. They also got the back-up camera as standard with it. This is a US spec car that I am speaking of.
Where is your car from?

I know what you mean. I have the us sport model with touchscreen. In theory we should just be able to add the factory camera and it would work, but i think this will also require the proper hatch body panel as well.

I have the US version live in Maine.. but I don't see any provisions for a rear camera in the "shark fin, or near the liscense plate lights or anywhere.. I'd be happy if I could put in a license plate camera that just mounts behind the plates... but where to hook in? and how do I activate it/hook up in the front to the touchscreen?

I wanted to put a aftermarket wireless cam on my sport. Turns out that there is nowhere to route the cable from the camera to the wireless transmitter unless you drill a hole somewhere. I even took the plastics from the rear hatch to see everything from underneath.
I even tried to use existing lights/lock holes but there is no enough room to put additional cable.
I did not want to drill, so I dropped the idea.

You do not have to drill a hole

The opening handle in the center of the tailgate is a rubber component that is bolted on to the tailgate. Simply unbolt the the handle enough and run the wire between the tailgate and the handle and retighten the handle It fits with no problems. You might want to put some electrical tape on the camera wire as it enters the tailgate so that the metal of the tailgate does not cut the wire. I did this.

nice job ;-)

and were you able to plug it into your radio, i'm doing some research to see if it's possible. I will have the HD radio on the sport model and i will like to add the back up camera also.

Yes it works great into the Jvc. However reading here it doesn't sound like the screen radio that comes with the auto sport as an option has a video input. I have a manual sport however so I didnt even have that radio option.

i will check once i received mine but i made a lot of search and it look's like i will go with an aftermarker with another little screen, but now i know what to do, thank's for the pics again ;-)
