i worked as a pt valet for over 2 years in philly and 1 year in hershey.
if you valet you car, don't be lazy, thoroughly inspect your vehicle before and after and make sure they mark the tags correctly before you initial it off. the second you leave the property, the valet co is no longer held responsible, even if you made it just down the block.
valet managers will do anything to avoid claims b/c thats money taken out of their monthly bonuses. so don't trust them. make sure to get a copy of the incident report and don't sign that either unless its completely correct. and keep calling them and bugging them for your compensation b/c they are f'ing slow and will stretch it out long as they can. if it was at a hotel, express you're displeasure and get a free room

yeh they were trying their best to screw me over, I made sure that report was filled out just as I wanted. I had just finished sightseeing so I had my camera right there to take pics before I even got in the car. I also made sure I told the manager of the hotel as well and she gave me her card and the card to the garage manager. The valet guy said to me, "look she didnt fill out any damage on the ticket, so she must not have done it..." YEAH cuz I'm sure they are gonna right down how badly she curbed my rim...
you guys see what im talking about with the fresh metal? The wheels were dirty as hell, so its pretty clear that the bright silver spots and metal shavings werent there on the drive down....idiot manager trying to tell me the damage isnt fresh...
oh and swamp....wanna trade for the black ones now?? (drinks)

no that wasnt me (thank god). The ppl putting my tires on damaged one of my wheels a little bit, but nothing even close to as bad as this...
it was a she, and judging by her looks, she was probly too cracked out to know she was even driving, let alone realize she was on a curb... if I wouldve seen them give her my keys I wouldve NEVER let her anywhere near my car
ha see I never let anyone drive my car for this same reason, but in this case I was on a mini vacation with my gf and she gets annoyed by my obsession over the car, well I tried to show her that I could park the car like a normal person and be ok with it. Well clearly she no longer has a case agaist me being overly cautious

alright. someone else brought their car to the dealership to get fixed or something and when they washed it they put some chemical on the forged rims and screwed up the whole finish.
heard from the garage company yesterday. They grilled me for 10 mins or so, im sure to fact check the claim. I emailed them pictures of the damage along with a bill from tirerack for the replacement set. The guy said I should expect a resolution by the end of the week. *fingers crossed*

Doesn't always help. Years ago, while visiting our sister in the hospital, my brother parked his Pantera at the far side of the lot, well away from everyone else. Somebody drove across the lot and hit the car. I suppose that isn't IDIOT so much as ASSHOLE, and other than leaving your car at home in the garage, there is no defense for them.
