This newest addition, a 2025 PHEV Premium Plus with a jet black mica exterior and red leather interior is our daughter's new DD. This is her first car that is all hers. In the past she got my 2002 P5, wife's 2010 Mazda3 and then 2019 Jeep Compass as hand me downs. The former two are long gone and we traded the Jeep in towards the CX-70.
She is ecstatic and so far loves everything about the CX-70. She is still getting used to the command knob but I told her that it will become second nature and she has the ability to use the touchscreen when using CarPlay if she chooses. I tried to suggest a CX-30 but she has ridden in her Aunt's and felt the cabin was too small. She likes the CX-5 (we have had two) but wanted something bigger and is not a fan of the CX-50 (mom's current DD). After test driving the CX-70, she said it did not feel as big as it is behind the wheel, loved the ride, the seating and that the interior control placements were perfect (for her).
This is our first foray into the electric side of cars and we are both learning. She works close to home so a full charge should be more than enough for her daily needs. Going to look into what is involved with adding a Level 2 charging system to the house and then decide if it is worth doing now or waiting until all cars are flying EVs. Our first time charging it, we found out how to dis-engage the cable lock. I pushed the button but the cable would not come out. After several attempts and too afraid to exert any more force, I consulted Google. This is where I found the nifty little release under the plastic storage panel in the cargo area. I am not sure why it locked and hope that it doesn't do it every time as it will become a royal PITA to have to access the release.
Not sure how often I will ever see the keys but I will ask for her insights periodically.
On to the pics, I present to you Meleys, the Red Queen....
