Well I was stop at a stop sign and I was about to turn. I looked up in my mirror and I saw that some one was coming and they weren't slowing down. So I started to go to try and miss them and then I didn't go quick enough and they rammed me in the back. It is still drivalbe but it looks like s***. It isn't really that bad of shape but enough to notice. Will post pics later.

Sorry to hear that man, i know id be real upset right now...Its gotta be even tougher because you couldnt do anything about it and you had no control over it...I know if anyone ever hits me from behind someone may have to bail me out of jail...sorry to hear :(

Sorry to hear that ... one fewer in the fleet.

Does it look like a P5 now?!

sorry to hear about your bad luck man, atleast you're alright. did you beat the guy senseless.

It's not totalled, is it? Please tell me they can fix it. Hope you get to run it again soon.
Are you going to mod it now that its been all smashed up? If so, I'm sure you can sell a lot of your parts on here to get new ones. A friend of mine wrecked a bike and the insurance covered everything. He decided to upgrade to pretty much aftermarket everything. Th insurance gave him money for stock parts, usually more expensive than aftermarket, he sold what was still good cheap, and made some money out of the deal.
Just a thought man!
Hope you can get her back together. I'd be lost without mine.

Sorry to hear about this. same thing happened to me yesterday at the corner of ambassador and verot (near the chevron). i was in the turn lane waiting to turn in to the gas station, but saw the truck coming and goosed it to get out of his way. that was a little too close for comfort. hope everything goes well for you and that the insurance company isn't a pain in the a$$.

Oh, and a recommendation as a past accident victim myself. Sign nothing and agree to nothing from their insurance company until you get exactly what you want. I had someone run a red light and I totaled my first motorcycle a few years back. It took 7 weeks, but I got what I wanted, which was twice the original offer from the guys insurance company. Hold out til you get what you want. Just MHO.

I'm with cjstringer on that one. Make sure to get you neck checked out too. I got rear ended years ago, and my injury didn't show up until afterwards. Been f'd up ever since. I still can't look all the way up.

As for your car....man I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy. Sorry to hear it man. Was it just the rear bumper, or trunk too?

Wow dude that sux, sorry to hear! :(

I swear if this happened to me, the guy who did it would be in for a world of pain!

hey if you are gonna be selling the parts...ill take your springs... that really sucks about ya car though...i had gotten rear ended while doing 40mph in nyc and someone had a stole car ran a red light turned on the road i was on and smacked my left rear corner sent me spining 2 blks down the road into a huge ice bank and F%cke dup my back nbecka nd my nknee's....and it was a hit and run......that s*** sucked...justbe happy your car took the hit and not u..

Please add my sympathies to the pile!

The first mark on my MP3 was from a Chrysler mini-van that couldn't wait for the person in front of my to respond to the green light. While it was only (only) a small mark on the lower valance, I was out of the car so fast that I almost didn't use the door. It was a soccer mom with her kid in the front seat and I went off on her.

Of course the big one still has my beloved MP3 in a body shop over three hours away in Penn a month later. The full repair bill is $8300 and change. It was scheduled to be painted today and hopefully I'll get it back Friday. It took a big hit (broadsided by a Nissan Altima) but both my passenger and I walked out without a scratch. So did the Altima driver (his airbags went off and the crash wiped out everything back to the Nissan's engine).

I feel your pain!

I'll show you the work order.

I feel your pain as well. I got smacked in the back 2 weeks ago. I should get it back this friday (we'll see if that happens). $8000+ worth of damage to mine.

People must really want to take a closer look at the beautiful cars that we drive... maybe too close!!

Ugh. I was really hoping my car would be done...but I figured that the shop I went to would take the time to do it right.

Talked to the shop manager this afternoon, the body guy is finishing the door pillar (a-post) today and they will spray the jambs and inside of the new driver's door tomorrow. They have dragged the insurance adjuster back at least five times to add newly found damage as they got further into taking it apart. I was looking at the latest supplement to the work order and asked why they were taking off the rear door handle and why they had time added to drop the rear bumper and remove the taillight on the driver's side. Turns out that State Farm doesn't allow the shop to blend in the paint on a repair - (sometimes a shop will blend back into the next panel to better match the paint, which with today's paint usually looks fine for years). SF requires that the entire panel be refinished and since they had to put a new post in for the front door hinges. they have to repaint all the way back.

The end of NEXT week is now the word on when I'll resume zoom-zooming beginning with a long trip back from PA.:D

Don't ask

Tell the ins. co. you want to be paid for depreciation!

I've told several people about this on this board. Not many people know that if a wreck wasn't your fault, the other persons insurance company has to pay you for the depreciation of your vehicle. A young girl rear ended my wife's civic and she got paid. The total damage was about $4500 and she got $1800 for depreciation. If they say no, they are lying. If it is not your fault they owe you that money. For this car, it should be more. If you want a reference, call SEVERAL Mazda dealers and tell them what the damage was, then ask them how much they would cut the retail price. Take an average of this, then that is what you should get as a minimum.

Good call Ben. Never even thought about that! I've usually just wanted the car back. Been sideswiped twice in other cars. Only worried about the repair costs. I'll remember that one. :)

I had never known about it either. When my wife got into that wreck, a friend of mine that worked at the shop told me about it. I guess it's something the ins. co. doesn't want many people to know. But it usually hase to be the other persons fault to get that money. If the bill is $8300 like bondobob's, you should be expecting a huge chunk of change. You have to go to a little trouble calling around to dealers, but the money is worth it.

Working and going to school. I'm starting at UTA this summer. It's going to cost like $5000 a semester till I've been here 12 months. We need to have a MP3 get together.sometime. Let me know something.

Yeah, I am at work right now getting ready to get off. I am meeting up with Jag probably this afternoon. I will PM you in a sec. I never got your phone number.
