Actually getting 400 miles each tank?

For some odd reason I am starting to get 400 miles on each tank of gas. Its weird, I did a tune up more than a year ago (plugs, wires) and thought I would have seen it then but didn't. Now the last three tanks I've been hitting 400. My best so far has been 434. I have always used synthetic and have a K&N intake. All the tires are at 36psi. Just not sure what has changed. The only thing that could have effected it is I had the neg side of the battery off for a couple of days when I was upgrading the sound system which could have reset the ECU for timing. Any ideas?

The other question is anyone else pushing 31-32 mpg?

No, my kid gets about 20 mpg. But its an auto and she drives really short routes, multiple times a day so that is the worst type of driving for mileage.

I get 32. How you drive does effect mileage, so 2002 mp5 your daughter may be a lead foot lol. But it is understandable that an ECU reset could help you out, especially if you haven't done one in a long time or at all.

I get about 28 with the supercharger on. Although most of my driving is on the freeway.

I usually average anywhere between 30-34 mpg with or w/o the AC on. Most of the miles I put on are highway, and it's also a 5 speed.

I can get anywhere between 27 - 32 mpg. That's dependant on how heavy my foot is that day but my usual is 30 - 32 mpg. Mind you I have a 1.6L though.

for people getting over 400 miles per tank let me ask you this.. what is your average speed going down the highway?

Mostly between 60 and 65 on the smaller hwy I live off of. Then 75 to 80 on Interstate 5. I usually do a bunch of city driving too so it is just odd.

I got 37 mpg all highway going around 70 - 75 MPH.

That doesn't look right, 37mpg would put you at almost 500 miles. The Fuelly list gives you 30.7 MPG average. Must have been a typo.

I have yet to hit 400MPT. and I drive very conservatively most of the time. but almost all city driving, short trips of less than 10 miles consist of probably 90% of my driving.
on the rare occasions where I take a longer drive on a tank of gas, I usually get at least 20 more miles on a single tank, but thats not saying much as I still dont hit 400mpt.

but then again, I havent done anything to the car since getting it 2 months ago, but am planning on a basic tune up with fluid changes in the next month or so and at that time will be going with full synthetic fluids. also planning on resetting ECU (or replacing with an MP3 ECU) at the same time.
