accident

DAMN! thats crazy! sorry to hear that man... hope your "negotiations" wit the insurance company go well... keep us posted

thats is ur insurance company for ya to total the car out. they better pay the rest of bill off if not done already. the better buy a car for u as well i am sure that its not a total lost. i have a friend that took a 95 vw jetta that had no trunk and fixed it and it looks sick as hell.

I second that...many people recommend starting in 2nd gear for slippery conditions...and here's the trick...if you have no traction, take your foot off the gas, and if you are braking and have no traction, pump the brakes because your car will continue to go straight unless the front wheels can turn...if they're locked up you're going to ride the snow like a sled.

yea theres "over 10grand"(insurance appraisor) in damages from new radiators and engine mounts and headers to frame damage and rims and tires its just a mess of parts internal and exterally that are needed to be replaced

Not to bash ya, but 20 mph in first is 4500 rpm. You should be short shifting at 2000 rpm out of first, or starting in second.

Slow down...you coulda really hurt one of your friends. Trust me...I totalled my Neon in the snow -- it was my fault. Now I save the "fast" driving for the summer months.

That sucks about the totaling and accident and all.
But like all have said, dude, 20mph in 1st? You were in the torquiest gear at the peak of the torque. In the winter just get out of 1st gear into 2nd as soon as possible.

Hope you get a good deal from insurance, good luck.

I had Dunlops, and with the Florida Rain, I lost traction a lot in the heavy rain here. After only 8000 miles, they were replaced with Yokohama ES-100's. Immediately, I noticed I had more traction, and have yet to have any problems after 4000 miles. Highly recommend the tires.

I plan on using my stock tires for racing SCCA this season, I want to just DESTROY these things so that I can buy some really nice street tires.

good luck! remember no more high revs in the snow!! try starting in a higher gear if you can. best to ya!

hahah thanks guys i was thinking about buying it back from insurance and fixing it myself but putting on the carbon fiber front end and everything and making it into a little race car ha
