Accessport+spark plugs?

i want to run the Stage1+SF 91 Octane map is it required to get new spark plugs or will the stock ones be ok for this map.

I thought I've read that Cobb recommends upgrading to one-step colder plugs with the Ap regardless of stage. I purchased Densos to go with my AP when it finally arrives. I will try to find the information on it, but I'm pretty sure.

Havenot read the thread but I have he ap with stock
plugs and honestly I have no probe when I do my downpipe and full exhaust I'll switch to the diff plugs but as of now stock exhaust turbo inlet and sf intake im fine. I'll also say my buddy dynoed the other day and he had 1 pull left so I took my ap off my car and put it onto his and it made 40+ whp. I have to say I'm a lil mpressed and so was he. His ap should be in soon

I'd suggest (as does Cobb) running step-colder plugs any time you're running higher-than-stock boost levels.

I'm running the ITV22s (gapped to Cobb's suggested specs) with the Stage 1+SF 91 octane map.

WOW! What were your buddy's mods? I have the AP and just a MS CAI (test pipe on the way though) but I doubt I got that much out of my AP. Not saying he didn't, just don't think I did.

I would recommend going with the Denso plug. Forum users have reported that the NGK plugs come with much too wide of a gap from the manufacturer. There are certain tolerances by which you have to respect with regard to that. I think the NGK's came .044 and you would need them at .028. The Denso's come .028-.030.

I'll also second the recommendation to run the Denso ITV22's gapped to .028-.030 regardless of stage.

Not a fanboy of any spark plug manufacturer, but BTW, the NGK Iridium IX, which I run (because of my catless DP/RP) can be purchased locally from most auto parts stores and are considerably cheaper than the Denso's. Equal quality. Got mine from O'Rileys. Also available at NAPA and other such stores.

The NGK number for one step colder is: LTR7IX-11.

You do have to regap them. No biggie - just lightly tap the ground electrode to close the gap while measuring with a wire gauge. You need to check the gap on any and every plug you install and AP wants you to go down to .026-.028 anyway. I just couldn't see spending more money and waiting for shipment from a remote supplier/vendor.

Strange how the OEM NGK replacement (ILTR 6A8G) is gapped .032 (.028-.032 is OK for stock) and the one step colder is .044... the denso's (ITV22) I bought came in @.028 out of the box. I ended up not using them after swapping some mods, but they are good to go or they should be without any re-gapping.

I should probably think about getting a set of plugs. Where are people buying Denso's from? RPMstore?

S U and protege garage for the plugs, im gonna get a set soon
