Abs Cai? (pic inside)

ABS plastic CAI

For those of you with a ABS CAI could you explain what different degrees you used to make it? A tight 90 then a straight then a normal 90 to another normal 90 down? Also what did you do with that rubber tube comming out of the stock rubber intake that goes to the side of the engine?

Sorry it doesn't make much sense. But what I want is directions on how to make an ABS plastic Cold Air Intake.

Thanks

I wouldn't use ABS plastic for anything engine related. The heat will melt it.

Actually it won't...
I had one on my old Probe GT, with the KL series V6 and it held up better than my first try with schedule 40 PVC. The KL ran a lot hotter than our engines, and I never had any melting/burning at all. My 1990 Protege LX 1.8 had a similar setup as well, no problems at all for 110,000 miles....I did paint the entire thing in High Temp Grill paint, which probably helped to some degree. Anyways, it's a pretty good option in my opinion, vs. PVC.
