awesome!!!

i was planning out doing the same thing in regards to the extra duct you added to suck in more cold air.

i was going to run it from my lower air dam through that hole near the coolant overflow container.

i can see plastic ties up top...how'd you mount it on bottom?

nice work dude! hope the install with the badge went smooth. now its only me and u with that in hawaii ;) haha peace - chris

I was thinking of doing this with some flexible rubber hosing from home depot or soemthing, i just want something that is smooth on the inside.

I like the paint job in the engine, I just did a bunch of caps, tower bar, tie bar and valve cover in metalcast blue.

All came out real nice except for where i slipped witht he sanding block when doing the letters on the valve cover, im think a touch up spray or clear coat to hide the scratches =P

BTW, the intake tubing from the throttlebody back looks like the ebay one but did u sand it to a polished/brushed finish? I like it, i wasthinkin of sanding it to that or painting it with the metalcast...

Thanks, actually if you notice i cut away a small piece of the cover/plate thingy in the area so I can run the hose through it. There is a screw mount hole left since I don't need to mount anything to it anymore since i cut the piece away I put another plastic tie around the hose and through that hole. you don't even notice the hose really unless you look under the car. i didn't want it to be too noticable and get flamed....haha

I highly recommend you put some sort of filter on your homemade CAI.....the last thing you want is to have stuff flying into your engine

he does, it's probally just in the middle of the configuration. I doubt anyone would be dumb enough to drive around w/ a ram-air intake, and not have some type of filter to stop all that road debis.

Thanks buddy! The P5 badge was actually harder to take off then I thought, probaly because I didn't use a hairdryer, just dental floss (mint of course) and goo gone. Still had a lot of residue left over that I had to rub off which took a while. The Familia badge already had the plastic things on it that you were talking about so I just used strong double stick tape and stuck it on. I tried pulling it off but that sucka aint coming off without snapping in 2......thanks for the tips bro!

Yea your right, I thought about that too, gonna find some kind of mesh to put over the opening...Its connected to the filter in side though so at least it won't go in to the engine. I just gotta check in there once in a while to see if any garbage has accumilated....

The intake was bought from Ebay but its not the one everybody talks about.."bomz" was it? Its from a company called "Saber"...it comes polished and was almost a 99% perfect fit.

Thanks, but actually if you look close you can tell its a big sticker and it looks like it may not last too long since i just washed my car and it looks like the edges are starting to peel already....I guess you get what you pay for.......Maybe i'll invest in some real eyelids if I find them cheap.....we should do a group buy!

cool, you can use pantyhouse to block off road debris such as pebbles. =D

Cool.....which brand? Which Color? Fishnet?......... gotta steal a pair from the wife then!! Thanks thats actually a pretty good idea..

well for likw 2.50 you can get an 8foot by 3 foot roll of aluminum mesh from home depot, nothing like the thicker stuff used for grills but but it comes in handy alot.

Prob just get that and cut a circle out of it, stick it in the front end of that tube and ur done, you can even poke a couple hole sin the tube to zip clip the mesh inside it.
