Yeah, I figured it would be a neat place to take some pics. Except for the fact that the security guard in the Hyundai was just chilling in his car staring at me. lol

I like it, but you're still getting a bit of blur. Did you take the pic with the auto timer? If not, try that next time so you don't get that initial blur from just pressing the shutter button. Very nice pics

I didn't use the auto-timer. I'll try experimenting to see what produces the best shots and try again when it's not drizzling.

Definitely try that. It'll make the pictures much crisper. Set it for 10 seconds, focus, press the shutter and back away. The slightest vibration will cause a blur in the photo. You'll be very happy with the results:

very nice...but if i can just make a few suggestions...
see if you can shop out those blueish white lights in the background, they are kinda distracting especially if you want to keep the yellow hues of the car and the foreground lights.
also +1 on the tripod/timer suggeston

Also learn about your "custom white balance" on your camera. Most cameras in the last few years have this. What you do is take a picture of something white (bring a blank white sheet of paper with you) in the light that you will be shooting in. Enter the menu and select custom white balance. Then select the picture of the white sheet. This "calibrates" the camera to what levels of present light make up the color "white" (white is a combination of all colors, and the intesity of each color depends on the temperature of the light). Since incandescent bulbs are a "warmer" color than sunlight, you get a yellowish hue to everything, such as your pictures. If you took your pictures underneath that halogen bulb (background, last picture) you will get a blue hue to everything, since halogens are a "cooler" temperature.
If you set it correctly, you will get beautiful pictures with realistic color as AutoEuphoria displayed.

night shooting was my favorite thing to do with my old 35mm SLR and tripod. the key thing is to have the shutter open for a long time (like 30 seconds with absolutly no ambient light) and "paint" objects (lik a car) with a flashlight or different color LED lights
I'm using a Canon Powershot A590.
I have an older A530, its a pretty good point and shoot camera but eats batteries doing long exposures. Thats the backup for my Nikon D50

i used to have a nikon coolpix8800 (i think that was the number), then i got a nikon d80. i just never seem to get out anymore to take pics, and i have a couple nice lenses to go with it. i really should start up again

Canon G6 is what I use...in between a point and shoot and DSLR.
Or you could send them to me, ill get use out of them for you (headbang)
