Mazda, Protege, 1997
Hello everyone,
Now I'm not really good with cars, or forums.(I would love to learn more about them though).... but I do need help with this. I owned a 1997 protege (manual) it is in really good conditions. It runs very well and it hasn't let me down at all. Ofcurse just minor things as tune-up, oil change, etc. Not to mention it is my very first car ever owned.

I'm also in love with an XB.

My question is, should I just fix up my little 1997 protege or buy a new Scion XB?

Now I'm not into speed, or anything like that. I just love a car that performs well and that wont give me problems. I also can't keep both :(

Any opinions? Suggestions? Ideas? I don't know, can you guys help?

Thanks A lot :)

LOL as in SCION XB... I look weird in the TC. I'm a really small girl. I can't reach the clutch :( I tried it dude. I'm not looking for an automatic also. Am I been picky?

haha I think all girls look good in a scion TC what do you mean you can't reach the clutch? if you want to drive in a box all day by all means, to each his or her own. scion TC hs curves in all the right places lol and it looks sharp

I loved my 97pro when i had it. I put some nice rims and lowered it, it wasent fast, but fun to drive.

i say stick with the mazda. my wife almost bought a xb(lunch box). i wasnt impressed. ok, maybe the fuel milege was impressive but thats about it. good luck on whatever decision you make.

p.s. just remember what ppl you're asking that question too.(mazda ppl.lol.)

No car payment

Provided that Protege is paid off, I say

No car payment-mod For The Win! :)

Now any money you put into the car can be for the fun factor of your choosing.

performs well and wont have problems...are you mistaking the xB for some other kind of car? It wont perform very well with all that wind resistance and box shape...it will probably roll over like a suzuki side-kick when you make the turn out of the lot! Im sorry for sounding harsh...im sure you are a totally cool girl and youre just looking for a good honest opinion.

Id have to agree that having no car payment is pretty good...ride it until it breaks and then get something nicer that will last awhile like a used mazda 3 or 6...i think for the money the new mazdas are really a good deal. Over the last several years they have really upgraded the interior appeal and exterior styling. Plus they are really pretty reliable and are not very expensive to fix if something does break.

Yea def stay with the Protege...I have a XB now and really don't care for it...I traded it for my 03 Protege and miss the Protege more than anything along with the fact my friends loved my Protege more....I dunno why I got a xB maybe cuz I thought they were cool and I work for Toyota...I am lookin to get another Protege this summer...so stay with the Protege...
