96-97 Miata With Headrest Speakers

I recently replaced the radio in my 97 Miata. The old radio was shot and I wanted a unit that could accomodate accessory equipment. The problem is this; the old headrest speakers have been replaced with this new radio and now the radio will not work at all. It worked prior to hooking up the new headrest speakers but not with them hooked up.Anyone out there that has a similar experience please chime in. These headrest speakers were only came in these two years and perhaps I am seeing why now. This is becoming just another annoying project that didn't come about smoothly. As much as I enjoy my little two seater, it seems that the simple little things are the ones that cause so much frustration. Thanks for listening to my whine!

Well everyone I asked my previous question way too soon! It seems that when screwing the speaker boxes back into the headrest, I screwed right through one of the wires and shorted out the entire sound system. Now things are working just great. I didn't realize that the two speakers are actually left and right units on each headrest! Makes for hearing the tunes more better when driving topless!
